This beach is very close to the train station, very clean, and offers takeaway cafe, drinks, beach shop and water activities. Short walk into the town centre. No dogs allowed at any time of year.

Lovely sandy beach with cafes, and a lovely hilly green backdrop for shade and protection if there is a strong sea breeze. Beware the sea gulls when eating, especially ice cream, they swoop and can be quite aggressive.

You can walk on this beach and look for little shells imagining yourself in a scene straight out of Shellseekers. Sunsets are incredible and if the surf is up there will be surfers to entertain you or take a surfing lesson yourself.

This beach is lovely and was nice and quiet even though it was a bank holiday Sunday - mind you the drizzly weather probably helped. The beach is easy to reach from the town and probably gets really busy in the summer. The sand is lovely and, whilst I notice a dog owner was disappointed it was closed to dogs,... More

Even though there was no one on the beach near to 6pm we were not allowed on with our three dogs as they are banned from 1st May to end of September... Clearly St Ives don't want our tourist pounds... our dogs were squealing with excitement as they could smell the beach and the water and yet again, for the... More

Such a beautiful beach, large expanse of golden sand with views of the town and harbour. The beach has two coffee shops selling fresh food and alcohol if you want it, along with the award winning Porthminster restaurant. A small pitch and putt course behind adds to the family experience, and the toilets are good too!

I got lots of photos of the beach as it was just so beautiful to look at. It made you feel very calm and relaxed.
