Best beach in Europe

Numerous surveys show this to be one of the best beaches in Europe and we agree. Great to watch the surfers and dolphins occasionally - whilst the sunsets are spectacular.

St Ives is a very pleasant small town. It has some excellent restaurants and small shops selling mostly tourist items. We stayed in the neighborhood for three nights and spent half a day in St Ives, which was more than enough. My best advice is to have tea/coffee/beer and a crab sandwich in one of the small places close to... More

Finely ground shell-beach with stunning turquoise sea and unbelievable sky. The quality of light os extraordinary. Beware of windy days, though, or take a windbreak, as the finely ground shells that comprise the beach feel like they're cutting into your skin like fine shards of glass

Wonderful expanse of sand and sea. Great for surf enthusiasts. here s nothing to dislike about the beach - can be a little crowded in mid summer

Even in December this is a gorgeous wide stretch of beach, perfect for walks. The surrounding hills provide beautiful views and there was people surfing off the beach for the entire week that we were there.

So natural, clean sea and beach. Just getting too old to surf these days. We have been visiting since before our children were born, now they are bringing their children. Well worth the drive from Plymouth.
