A walk on the wild side

It doesn't matter about the weather a walk along this beach has a magic of its own it has beauty whatever the season . The walk was exhilarating and relaxing ?

Porthmeor is my all time favourite beach. I love the surf, the white sand, the island at one end with St Nicholas chapel, and the footpath to Clodgy which starts at Porthmeor. You can paddle, swim, body board, surf, build sand sculptures, drink takeaway tea from Porthmeor Beach cafe or sit on their terrace or in small pods for delicious... More

This is the jewel in the crown for St Ives, either at heigh or low tide its a great beach for all the family and at a really low tide you can see the old steel boilers from the old shipwreck which also brings home how dangerous the sea can be, the rock pools keep the kids happy and the... More

This is a surfer's paradise (for the UK) and has lovely sand and great facilities. Dogs are allowed on the beach in the winter but not from Easter through summer.

Lovely to sit outside on a sunny day in Cornwall and eat fresh fish with crispy chips on the golden sands of St Ives. It was crowded so we had to wait a while but the meal was well worth it. The waiter was very helpful and the setting was great. A good meal!.

Spent many many hours here as a child back in the 70's and 80's. Still can't get enough. Sunbathing, swimming, surfing and eating. Lovely coastal walks

Whilst staying in Carbis Bay in Cornwall we visited several places in the area and a little reluctant to share some of these amazing places as we want to keep them for ourselves and Porthmeor Beach was one such place. Idyllic, safe, stunning scenery and beautifully clean. Perfect for families, young and old, a must visit but please don't tell... More
