Description: Set in lush sub-tropical gardens, Newquay Zoo is home to more than 1,000...
Set in lush sub-tropical gardens, Newquay Zoo is home to more than 1,000 of the world's rare and exciting creatures. Just a short walk from Newquay's town centre and world famous surfing beaches, the Zoo is both one of Cornwall's most exciting visitor attractions and a leading conservation charity. It's the only place in Cornwall where you can see lions devour their lunch before taking a leisurely stroll through a tropical rainforest, surrounded by free flying birds. Keeper talks and animal feeds take place throughout the day but if you fancy an even closer animal encounter we offer visitors the chance to meet and feed our cheeky lemurs, friendly penguins and impossibly cute meerkats! See wildebeest, waterbuck, nyala antelope and zebra roaming in our African Savannah and enjoy some familiar faces in The Village Farm - one of our most popular exhibits which includes many children's favourites such as pot-bellied pigs, African pygmy goats, turkeys and striped squirrels. And if all that isn't enough to keep the kids amused, we also have activity trails, face painting, a children's play area, dragon maze...and much more. Besides enjoying a great family day out, when you visit Newquay Zoo you'll also be supporting our vital education, research and conservation work, all designed to protect endangered animals from extinction. We're playing a key role in the international effort to save animals through conservation breeding.

This is my 3rd visit to Newquay Zoo, it would be a nice little place to bring children or for a 1st time visit, however I don't think you could spend hours and hours there. You will find a nice range of animals to see but sadly no giraffes or elephants! Although it was great to see the lions being... More

Newquay Zoo is a lovely small, welcoming zoo. I have really enjoyed my time here and the staff are great, very welcoming and well informed. The education staff, especially Pippa, were very enthusiastic and really made the experience more fulfilling and exciting!

We visited Newquay zoo for the first time today and found it a very charming and well kept. There are some very nice exhibits and we managed to see most of the animals despite it being very cold. The animals all looked happy and well cared for, generally in very good condition. The grounds of the zoo were interesting and... More

Newquay Zoo is well kept, very clean and attractive. There are plenty of seats, picnic and childrens' activity areas and excellent toilet facilities. Staff that we met were friendly and helpful and the talks given at feeding times very interesting and informative. The upper story in the Tropical House brought us nearer than we ever hoped to be to the Hoffman's Sloth without... More

I absolutely love this place. Personally I'm a sucker for animals but this has a bit of everything for all ages. Farm animals to monkeys to big cats and small cats to lizards. The Zoo cost about £13 gift aided each which gave us access everyday for a week. This gives you opportunity to go back if you miss something... More

A good place to visit, especially with children, as it is very educational & they have lots of chats at feeding times, for information. It now has 3 lions, which are always fascinating to watch. There are a lot of different animals & the zoo has frequently added extra areas for more species.

A nice little zoo wit ha great range in animals and birds. The Zoo is nicely laid out so you can get round all of the different animals and the animals have ample room to enjoy them selves. also reasonably priced compared to other zoos.
