Our first visit - it's a nice beach - water great for all surfing abilities - quite rough for swimming. Lots of life guard stations. Sand is very gritty - not soft like St. Ives & Gwithian but ok. Beach was clean. There are a couple of surf schools, showers, toilets and a few cafés. Nice day out - would... More

This beach is right opposite several hotels, including Shearings. It is very clean & seems to be surfer's paradise.

There is a long walk down to the beach either by steps or a slope, it is a nice beach with cafes, although they are quite pricey.

A beautiful beach with plenty of space and a great selection of beach snacks and drinks to soak in the sunshine...steep walk down and back again, but worth it,

But to be honest the hotels in the peak season are not really too cheap. There are few surfing school with surf stuff to rent. Place is good for surf most for beginners .... More

What has happened to the sand, it used to be nice underfoot but this year it has become very shaley (crushed shells) very uncomfortable on bare feet so make sure you bring the flip flops. We chose to use the Great Western beach instead, it's the next beach down but the sand quality is much better.
