Once you have managed the steps or walked down the ramp it is worth the effort. Food, drink and other amenities. Not forgetting a lovely sandy beach. Lifeguards in the summer to take care of your welfare. Hiring of deck chairs or loungers etc available. one of the best beaches around.

An easy walk down a winding road or a steep set of steps (beware, some of the steps tilt forward). Two cafes, and plenty of space for kids to build sandcastles

A brilliant beach well kept and great for watching surfers. the only dis-advantage was that it was a long way down, but could only be expected as it is a clifftop resort

A very clean beach; as all the others appeared to be. However there is a steep descent to the beach which obviously means a hike back up and therefore not suitable for those with walking problems. It would seem that all the beaches in Newquay have similar access problems for those with restricted mobility. Good for children and surfers.

During our stay my husband had surfed Tolcarne Beach and by the Monday of our stay there was an Army Surf Contest taking place too. Cafe and Shop to use, beach huts and plenty of room on the beach. The walk back up the stairs from the beach was a bit of a trek, so not great for people with... More

This is a lovely beach. When the tide is out, you can explore the hidden coves around the sides of the rocks. The beach gently slopes down, and I saw no evidence of any dangerous rips so I was happy in the sea with my kids even when there were no lifeguards on duty. It is a nice surfing spot,... More

Clean beach. Beach shop a bit pricey. The beach is best in the morning before the crowds arrive make sure you check the tide for the day.
