We went as a family with some friends of ours. The children ranged in age from 3 to 7. The attraction to the place is that once you've paid the entrance fee everything else, apart from food/drink and mini karts, is free. Unfortunately we only had time to test out the main railway and the woodland railway but they were... More

It's a lovely place, especially if your kids are round the five & under mark. We had lovely rides on all the trains and a good play in the slides. You can take a picnic but there is a cafe too. My youngest had a fab day, especially spotting the toys hidden next to the tracks. My only grumble is... More

We visited with 3 children, aged 6, 2 and 9 months. After parking, you purchase your tickets and wait to board the next train! Very glad we didn't have a pushchair - although lots of families did it seemed a bit of a struggle to get them folded and onto the train. Our baby prefers to be in a sling,... More

Lovely welcome, great location, perfect for kids. The only problem is boarding the train to enter the park.. You wait patiently for the train only to be swamped as the train arrives in the station, it quickly becomes a free for all with those with children being pushed to one side by ignorant Londoners. A barrier, turnstile or personnel supervising... More

Loads of trains to go on, loads of parks to play in, just lots to do - the family loved it - it's a must do for familes with young children. (As ever, only go when the weather is warm/sunny as everything is outdoors)

I spent an overcast summers day at Lappa Valley with my wife and 2 year old and we would all recommend it. You arrive in the middle of no where, park up, and buy a ticket in small train station and shop. Take everything you need for the rest of the day with you and get on the quaint little... More

We loved the train rides, the pleasant walk trails, lots of stuff for the kids to do such as canoeing, crazy golf, play areas. Everything well maintained and child friendly. Even the gift shop has reasonably priced items. Big, big recommendations for a family to go to in comparison to similar priced venues, such as Newquay Zoo (well maintained but... More

We have had many Holidays in Cornwall and we had thought that we'd done the main attractions. So looking through guides etc we came across the Lappa Valley Steam Railway. We didn't hold out much hope of spending a whole day there, but boy were we wrong. Upon arrival I thought "oh dear" as apart from the Ticket Office and... More

loved it here. We were apprehensive due to other reviews on here but when we arrived and got on the first steam train that took us to the main place we were already loving it. It took me back to my childhood, everything is very shabby chic and traditional, old school one pound token cars, a beautiful lake to row... More
