2 adults 5 kids, ages from 45 to 9, we were looked after by Alex and he was superb, never been surfing before and all 7 managed to stand by the end of 2.1/2 hours. Alex was especially fantastic with our 9 year old who was a little worried he wouldn't be able to keep up with the teenagers but... More

Perfect every time! Mark and Paula are great hosts, and the surf school is the best I have been to, great attention to detail, classes tailored to individual needs, passionate and experienced instructors, and always great fun for all ages. I highly recommend both the surf school and the lodge, and look forward to my next visit.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at the Dolphin Surf School! Paula and Mark are incredible hosts: kind, friendly, and extremely helpful. The lodge and the rooms are beautiful, warm and very clean. Very close to everything (beach and town), the location is super convenient. We would 100% recommend it if you are planning a surfing getaway and we are... More

The title of the review was a quote from my two boys aged 11 and 9. From a parents perspective the surf day was good value for money and the boys received professional, safe and fun tuition. Would highly recommend.

I actually came to Newquay mostly for climbing. As I stayed in the Trewinda lodge I thought I could as well try out some surfing. So I took my first surfing lessons ever there and really had so much fun. My first lesson was with Mark, the others with Alex. Had a lot of fun with both of them and... More

Great group, does what is says on the tin! I have two teenaged daughters and wanted a school I could trust. Mark led a team of instructors who were all v responsible and organised. We were all beginners and v nervous, we were put at ease straight away and given good quality equipment to use as part of our lessons.... More

My 10 year old daughter really enjoyed her 3-day course with Mark and Sam. She told me it was a sport she would to take up; if we lived in a international surf capital like Newquay! All in all, great lesson, great instructors!

We got a good instructor, but it was clear they had not planned anything before we arrived. Being newbies in surfing we were not told to arrive at a time when the tide was right for us - we therefore only got 1,5 hours of surfing before it was too unsafe for us to surf. Also after having finished the... More

I enjoyed every minute of it! Me and hubby went for a half day course, and Alex is really good in teaching us, and very encouraging. Both of us managed to stand on the board and now we regret why we didn't booked a longer course.

Having never surfed before I was a little nervous and didn't want to commit to a full day. Mark, the owner, was really supportive and allowed us to decide at dinner time if we wanted to stay for the full day - which we did. By the end of the day we could just about stand up on both feet... More
