We spent the day at Fistral Beach with young children body boarding. We bought all if our equipment from Adams Surfboards. The owner and his wife couldn't have been more helpful and I would definitely recommend a visit. The body boarding was brilliant and all of the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The car parking availability was good and the only... More

I can'believe people are saying this is the best surfing beach in the world. Perranporth is better than Newquay. The waves are small and sometimes inconsistent and break all over the place. Bossy lifeguards out for one foot waves. This beach is really a only good for bodyboarding. If you think this is good surf try south broom sa or... More

Great beach for surfing and wuld highly recommend surfing schools there which we have used a number of times now. Access to the beach is a bit steep so difficult for some.

One of the finest surf beaches in the world. Apart from the surfing there is something for everyone here, golden sands, rock pools and amazing sunsets. Plenty of good restaurants and shops too including a Ben & Jerry's ice cream kiosk. The only drawback is that because of the popularity of the beach, parking can be a problem unless you... More

I have lived a stones throw away since 1964 (no pun intended) but due to nature changes it has inconsistent areas ie the sand that was is not so plentiful anymore. It may be good for surfers still when the surf is there but I would go elsewhere for bucket and spade activities now, I recently ventured down with the... More

Having known this beach all my life (I live in Newquay) I am saddened by what it's become. From a paradise of golden sand and sand dunes, recent storms have left it unsightly with large expanses of pebbles and outcrops of rock. These can make bathing painful and hazardous, depending on the state of the tide. The dunes have all... More

This is definitely the beach that is made in Cornwall and it is why visitors make this trip a must, not just for the surfing, although it is well attended by surfers of all ages, and they can expect good waves, but the scenery alone from the beautiful old Headland Hotel right up to the headland itself, where you can...
