I love Lamorna cove. Been going there for nearly 15 years. So why only one star? We parked, bought the parking ticket for a three hour stay, spent nearly £50 in the cafe for lunch (excellent crab sandwiches) and went for a short walk. We arrived back at the car exactly 15 minutes late to find the cafe owner putting... More

We stopped here after visiting Mousehole and we didnt bother stopping. The road that leads you to Lamorna is Very narrow and its really not worth the effort. Maybe if you are walking it would be a nice place to pass through and the surrounding woodland looked very nice but there is nothing here for kids.

We came here twice during our holiday this week as we found it to be one of those magical gems that leave an impression on you long after your vacation is finished! At one point we got our folding chairs out and fell asleep, such is the serene calm of the place. There's a nice cafe too and a jovial... More

As part of our two week holiday in the Cornwall area, we stopped off at Lamorna Cove after a visit to Lands End. As we approached the car park, we saw a rather heated discussion between a distressed looking young woman, and a surly looking chap who looked like a nightclub doorman. This exchange gathered a bit of a crowd... More

I have family near Lamorna and used to visit periodically. It had a parking attendant who took your cash. I have dived there and eaten in the cafe. No more - I wouldn't go near the place if you paid me. A few years ago I went diving there and found there was now a machine selling parking tickets plus... More

This cove offers a range of reasonable quality food, traditional beach and touristy products and a fairly mediocre view. I'm sure in the past it was a beautiful cove but now it is run down, ravaged by weather and crumbling left, right, and centre. The beach itself is now mostly stones and rocks covered in sea weed. It is a... More

I found Lamorna last year and both myself and my children love it. The rocks dotted around the cove provide hours of fun for two adventurous boys (7 and 4), the beach is shelved gently allowing them opportunity to paddle without having to swim. Unfortunately since last year the quay wall has collapsed into the sea and without the funds... More

Lamorna is a beautiful place to while away an afternoon. The cove should be visited as a reminder of how savage British weather can be and the effects it can have on the local environment. The people who own the cove and the associated Searchlight parking company are no better than modern day pirates trying to fleece tourists. Their ramshackle... More

This sad relic of Cornwall's industrial history offers a poor view and a poorer welcome too. The harbour serves no purpose as the quarry closed so long ago, and the upkeep costs are clearly beyond the finances of the current owner. It's on the coastal path, but don't park here; even if you avoid the entrapment tactics and the owner's... More

Made our annual pilgrimage to Lamorna Cove for the 43rd Year. On a previous visit I gave the Cove a terrible rating - not because it is terrible as I truly love this place but because of the fact that the owner seemed to have fallen out of love with his most perfect prize. I have to say I was... More
