“Great views, not much more”

Very friendly welcome and you can fault the views if you climb to the top but there isn't that much to do other than that. There is an informative bit in the vistors centre but not much more. Worth a visit but if you're on a budget and don't fancy the admission fee I would give it a miss and... More

There is no car-parking dedicated to the castle but ample parking in town. It's not the easiest attraction to find as it is poorly signed through the town (thankfully there is a good mobile signal which allows you to use Google maps!) Climbing to the top is worth it, as are taking the pictures to show that you have done it. The views are wonderful and the boards are good to help you get a sense of the story. Visitors centre has a few boards that explain it well too. Interesting place in the history of religious intolerance too. More

Launceston Castle, owned by English Heritage, can't be described by most as a spectacular sight. Parking is in the town centre, although relatively cheap, and the town itself holds little charm.
