We only had ciabattas, chips and beer - simple enough - but they were just right. Roast veg, pesto and goat's cheese balanced perfectly. Chicken one great too. Usually I avoid coleslaw but the homemade version here was lovely. Pub's own brew of beer was delicious too. Cheers.

Sunny afternoon over the King Harry Ferry and straight to Philleigh for a drink. Just getting painted outside so bright white against that blue sky. Then I'm being treated to lunch however sandwiches are a bit fancy for my tastes. Whitebait is on the specials board . "Why dont you have a bowl of chips with that?" suggested the friendly... More

Had a delicious meal at the Roseland last night while on yet another visit to this wonderful part of Cornwall. The whitebait starter was really good, followed by a superb rib eye steak (not quite sure why it was served on top of the chips, but hey) and some succulent John Dory fillets. The whole thing was washed down with... More

We've been meaning to visit the Roseland for a number of years every time we have our annual holiday in the area and at long last we made it - and we were not disappointed! Contrary to some reports, it certainly isn't 'run down', they are brewing their own beer again and the food is really good - especially the... More

Generous portions, good meat and nice veggies. Just a small complaint, why no stuffing?? The puddings were fantastic, lovely yummy lemon posset and very nice apple crumble. Good service. The pub is in a lovely setting in a quiet village on the Roseland, with lots to see within a few miles - either going to the coast or inland up... More

The Roseland revival appears to be on track. We visited in the Summer and were pleasantly surprised by this lovely pub's return to form. Today my wife and I enjoyed a pleasant lunch of whitebait and crab risotto. Both were well cooked and presented. Our sticky toffee pudding, homemade, was wonderful. My only reservation is there is no need to... More

We went for Sunday lunch (it's best to book as it's a favourite with locals) and tried the roast beef - a huge portion with lots of vegetables - and crab risotto - yummy. Very friendly service, a real fire, parking outside and an enormous portion of bread and butter pudding to finish with. A welcoming "local" with much better... More

Five of us went to lunch last Wednesday and each had a different meal. The standard of the food was very high. The service was efficient and very friendly. We all felt that we has had an excellent meal. It wasn't cheap but was good value for money.

The drive through narrow country lanes is worth the trip . Charming very authentic Cornwall country pub - very nice pub meals with fresh local ingredients .

Often stop here for lunch before or after a walk. Had lunch there this week and had a nice fish platter (crayfish could have been better, not fresh tasting possibly pre frozen) and other members of our party had chicken strips and whitebait which went down well. Prices were not too bad and the drinks were good. The staff were... More
