A good option in poor weather as the boats were covered. We paid for the longer trip and then went on the bus trip and were told that we could not have the discount for two trips by the same company . Only the cheaper/ shorter trip got that. Bizarre. The guy on the boat said we would, not the... More

The boat trips were very reasonable....lots of places to eat and drink or just sit and look at the views.

Went on the 2 hour trip - lucky with beautiful weather. Had a most relaxing couple of hours. Went on the 1200 trip (take sandwiches or eat late, by the way). Truly relaxing.

We feel so lucky to live in England's most beautiful city when we walk along the riverside. The views in both directions are stunning. You can carry on walking in both directions and escape the crowds. The walk east (where you need to cross to the Sourthern side) along the Earl's Eye where the river bends to/from the South is... The tree lined Groves complement this splendid location. The ancient Dee Bridge spans near to a sparkling weir. Pleasure boats on hand (if you don't mind the extortionate charges). The band stand often the venue for local musicians and dancers, with plenty of seating for all to enjoy. Pepper Pot ice cream kiosks add to a wonderful day out that... More

A 10-15 minute walk along the river in either direction will leave the tourists behind. You can cross a number of bridges, walk to the meadows and admire the riverside mansions from afar [with Tudor-style boathouses] or head into Grosvenor Park and Parish Church of St John the Baptist. The latter is highly recommended since there are ruins incorporated into... More

We enjoyed a lovely half hour boat trip and then sat at the riverside cafe and had a nice cup of coffee in the sunshine. The atmosphere was relaxed and everyone was enjoying the late summer sun. We then had a nice hour strolling along the river. Most enjoyable.
