What a beautiful spot this is, packed with restaurants and cafes and some drop-dead gorgeous houses, it is a sight to behold. We had the perfect weather for it too. Everyone had a smile on their face and children were having the time of their lives.

Day trip out to Chester in the company of 11 year old granddaughter and wife. Decided to take the half hour river cruise ( cost £6 seniors, and £2.50 child) . Cruise lasted a little over the half hour and throughout there was a continuous recorded narrative on the history of the river and Chester together with descriptions of various... More

Went down to the river with my wife, child, toddler and parents. Lovely trip on The Jackie along the river with knowledgeable guides. After sat on a bench next to the river just enjoying the fresh air and the scenery. Just so relaxing and an escape from the hustle and bustle of our normal life in the South East of... More

A lovely sunny day added to the enjoyment of the river, boat hire is available as well as 1/2 and 1 hour cruises up the river. Plenty of discreet ice cream vendors etc. They make great use of the river side for seating and the accesible side is just right for the sun. A group of musicians were entertaining passers... More

Good value for a 2-hour trip up the river. Very relaxing, very gently - not much to see once outside Chester but if you are interested in flora and fauna, it's great. Big old oaks, sycamores, etc and we also saw two kingfishers.

After a walk along the wall stop off near the river and take a boat trip along the river Dee, either a 30 minute or 2 hour trip .A good way to see and hear some of Chester's history.

Not just the Lady Di, There is also The Mark Twain and The Jackie. These boats sail from the Groves area in the centre of the city mainly as far as the Red House pub and back to The Groves - where you can link up with the open-topped bus and continue your view of Chester. The half hour boat... More

If you want a good day out then no better place than the river Dee. Take a biat ride, or better still, a motor boat and cruse the river. Relax in one of the many tea rooms, or take a beer in the two pubs alongside the water front. Be warned that if you want to eat, be prepared to... More

It,s lovely to sit by the river eating ice cream and watching the boats going up and down. There is a suspension bridge spanning the river which you can cross and stroll along to the Meadows. There are several eateries by the river.
