Plenty of seats to rest, feed the wildlife, watch the boats and enjoy the band if one is playing in the bandstand. Cross the suspension bridge and enter the Queens Park residential area. Cafes and pub/restaurants available. You can take a 30 minute river cruise on two boats or hire rowing boats, pedalos etc. Access to the roman walls are... More

Nothing to dislike about the river at Chester. It's beautiful, with some interesting architecture and the meadows on the banks. The only fly in the ointment are the few humans that think it's OK to leave their rubbish behind for others the clear up for them - but not much litter to be seen as the cleaners have been around.

Enjoy a trip on this historic waterway with a short or long cruise with an informative commentary and enjoy a tea or coffee as you cruise or a drop of something stronger.

We were on a whistle stop tour of Chester, and the river trip was one of the highlights as far as we were concerned. The boat crew were friendly but not in your face .... the recorded commentary gave just enough information without being boring, and the riverside houses and views were great. A real bonus is the fact that... More

It's a very well maintained area with lovely paths to walk on. Check out the water for boats and other such things as well as wildlife. Well worth a visit

Take time to stroll along the river or just park yourself on one of the many seats on the river bank and watch the boats and the various wildlike go past. The bandstand normally has some type of music, singers/bands and also look out for the parade of bikers and their bikes that park up near the bandstand.

The River Dee runs all the way from Bala Lake in North Wales all the way down to the estuary. It is a nice way to relax or take a boat trip along the river, there is a charge for this but I have not been on them for a few years so I dont know what the cost is.... More

Lovely river to walk along, gorgeous views and great pubs along the way. A walk down past the ampitheatre, along the river then up Lower Bridge st is a good way of seeing it.
