With the course being almost in the city centre it's perfect for the days entertainment. Viewing is great with typically different compounds depending on price. We've made several visits to race days here and would suggest the best course in the North.

Really lovely, quaint and quirky racecourse. Great location if staying in Chester and once you are in the course everything is a short walk away. Its clean and wonderfully manicured. The bars are plentiful and are adequately staffed (take a note, other racecourses!). A huge range of eateries. The views of the racing from wherever are brilliant and you really... More

Had an amazing day out at Chester races for the ladies day in august. It was a special occasion and we were treated like royalty. One member of our party had sponsored one of the races and we were all allowed into the parade ring for this race and then watched the race from the owners/trainers stand, and then watched... More

Seemed to get less for our money this time. County stand tickets used to get you into most areas but not so this time. Will save our money next year and go in Tattersals. Still had great day despite weather not being as good as hoped.

Great day out for all of the family, but I went with work colleagues on this day, smart attire required, with the excitement of the races, and being able to get a pint on the course was great! Excellent day out!

It is an old racecourse, the Roodee Fields, going back 500 years. Here the jockeys really have to look out for the sudden turns or the centrifugal force could create havoc. But the course is nice and inviting, but since it is quite long, it can also be a tiring one for the horses.

Great day out a chester races. Plenty of bars and eating places. Drinks can be a little pricy but that is expected at these events.

We've visited Chester races a couple of times and have previously paid for Tattersall tickets and been disappointed with their facilities; long toilet queues, extortionate drink prices with long queues, questionable clientele... We thought we'd give the open £12 option a go. We booked online with box office collection, seamless and meant no queuing. We took a picnic blanket, a... More

Visited - as a coach party - Chester on Saturday 16th for a days entertainment. We'd been advised to pay £ 35.00 for access to Tattershalls having never visited the venue before. Bought on the website two tickets for £ 35.00 each, plus booking fee of £ 3.50 and a postal charge of £ 5.00. In due course the tickets... More
