Great day out with friends

First time at Chester races and it didn't disappoint, we saw hen and stag groups having fun, families with young children and groups of friends like ours. We took a picnic which... read more

We go to Chester race course quite regularly, especially ladies day but are now going to give it a miss,On ladies day it is absolutely jam packed and trying to get a drink is an absolute nightmare, there is never enough staff to do the job.The security staff think they are better than everyone else and have an extremely bad attitude. When we... Second visit to this course, still has a nice atmosphere, although I wouldnt go in tattersalls again, unless a quieter meeting. I found it very difficult to see much of the actual racing and had to revert to looking at the big screen for most races. Nowhere near the parade ring and the horses canter to the post away from the stands. If... More

Great day at the Chester Races. We went on Roman Day and the weather was great. Drinks are quite expensive as you would expect, but it wasn't overly busy, which was nice. Great day.

We went to Chester races on Saturday 23rd August and had tickets for the County stand priced at £42 each, the food and drink facilities were ok and the view of the course good, being next to the finishing line. It was very busy and at capacity but it was bearable. Looking at some previous reviews the courses customer service... More

we went into the Dee enclosure for Ladies day. The facilities were dreadful in that enclosure. It was impossible to get to the bar to get a drink as the enclosure was overcrowded, and even if we had been able to get a drink we would then have to negotiate a very dangerous flight of steps with drinks in our... So easy to get to, being attached to the city centre, the professionalism of all the staff here is second to none. Great atmosphere for the races in a Superb stadium. Minus points? Yeah, like all racecourses, inflated prices for drinks and food, £4.20 a pint? It's £ 3 to £ 3.30a pint in pubs near the course. Rip off.... More

We went to Chester racecourse today ! It was heaving with people, could not get to the bars/ eating outlets without queuing for 25 minutes,Chester racecourse is experienced in the number of people attending the Saturday races, there are not enough staff to cope with the demand. The members bar was stacked out with"guests" which the members were allowed to bring today... More

It's well known that to watch from the walls is free , sometimes on the biger more popular meeting you strugle to find a place . The main thing you miss out on is the bookmakers so make sure you get to ladbrokes between 12 and 1 and get best odds. Inside the main course cost aroud a £10 note... More

Visited on a busy raceday but they make great use of the space and facilities. The centre of the course was quieter yet with ample seating, bars and access to betting and the horse pre and post race. For racing enthusiasts and those just enjoying a day out, Chester accommodates both successfully and will definitely go again.
