The City of Chester proved to be a good choice for sightseeing and is so full of history. The old buildings of black and white design add full character to the layout. New buildings that have been erected are all in keeping with the rest of the City. A lot of time is spent looking up at the windows and... More

These tours exceeded my expectations because they were given by real live people, not via recordings. However, once you have done the route once, the tour guide uses exactly the same words again, making it very repetitive if you want to hop on and off to explore different areas of the city. There were extreme delays because it was the... More

My husband and I have done this tour in the past, but this time we took our Children with us to Chester and they loved the fact that you can get on and off whenever we chose too. They loved it so much we did it 3 times :)

This is a physical tour guide as opposed to an audio so it can be a little difficult to hear with the traffic so sit as close as you can to him/her. Our guide was very informative and the tour itself which lasts about 1 hour, gives you a good perspective of the City, especially if you've not been before.... More

My sister and her partner found out new information about Chester and short-cuts that they had not seen before, even though they have lived in Chester for five years. We intended to take the Vintage Bus tour but felt very let down when we arrived at the stop to find the tour advertised and the bus waiting, only to be... More

Chester has a number of covered walkways on two levels, "the rows". A number of boutique shops on two levels. Worth a visit.

Chester City must be one of England's most beautiful cities with a wealth of things to see and do. History sits comfortably with the modern trappings and visitors will adore the historic Roman walls, remains of amphitheatres, archaeological digs, cloisters and Tudor buildings - including the famous 'rows' where modern shops abound. There are plenty of places to eat and... More
