We found this place on a quiet Tuesday morning at a cost of £5.50 for adults we went and had a look ..it was a little basic but I'm guessing they make the most of their budget.. me and my girlfriend visited on Saturday 23rd May 2015 after recognising it from our childhood primary school visits some years before, we are both in our late teens so it was quite a while ago... we looked online and say that it was £5.50 to get in which from our memory was expensive but probably worth it. We either... More

This exhibit must have been created by the Romans it is that dated! Very tacky rooms that are in need of some painting. AV clip was inaccurate as footage of Roman Garden was well out of date. Excavation exhibits not fully explained and one interactive button was missing. Paid the same amount of money to visit Plas Mawr the oldest... More

Poorly maintained and very boring. Way too expensive so don't waste your money. Owners need to visit the Lever Brothers museum at Port Sunlight to see how this sort of attraction should be done.

looked up what to visit before we went to Chester and this looked interesting, quite expensive to get in unless you have younger children and then this is probably worth the money as my children are older they were not into all the interactive activities which are good for children from year one to year six.there is a small gift shop,... We visited simply because we were accompanied by 2 children who were studying the Romans at school & were keen to discover more. They were enthralled by the museum....the sounds, smells & sights & eagerly participated in the interactive areas. They dressed up, found themselves in prison & attempted to build a Roman arch. I agree it is only a small... More

This attraction boring and i do not sure about this attraction goals, They trying to market this show is Family attraction and then plunge you into a dark 'atmospheric' room with sinister looking statue doing the intro. Both our kids were terrified and we had to ask to skip this part, rest of the attraction is poorly maintained, after that... More

To be honest, if it wasn't for the fact that my son is studying the Roman's at the moment, I probably wouldn't have gone based on some of the reviews here. But I am so glad we took the chance and went anyway. Sure, there are parts which could do with a bit of sprucing but overall it is a... More

Not sure what it is with attractions that try to market as a family attraction and then plunge you into a dark 'atmospheric' room with sinister looking statue doing the intro. We were visiting Chester to view local attractions. We found this little Museum tucked away .The fact you can also try on Roman costumes and armour and helmets is great. You can also experience how an archaeologist would feel like on a dig underground, .This is a small museum but well worth a visit. Would definitely recommend having a look.
