Well it was an experience that is true. I think with more thought and a curator who has a museum eye this could be much better. I felt it was a hotch-potch of 'things' put together. It was inspiring the see the historical ruins that have been dug up so for that I am thankful. However, it feels a little... More

The museum had very little to it and is not worth bothering with. However the roman walking tour was very good - we really enjoyed it and at £2.50 per person is a bargain.

This attraction's website advertised that it was open from 9am to 5pm so we arrived at 11am on Thursday morning this week but were not allowed in. Lines of school children were going in and we were told that it would be another 2.5 hours at least before we could go in as educational tours were taking place. No "closed"... More

Glad I went but also glad I left my wife back in the hotel. Most of the area is devoted to digging holes in the floor and exposing the Roman footings. Great once but then it was again, then again , then again. ! They had some simple other trinkets but not really worth the £5.50 entrance fee.

We visited this attraction with our granddaughter aged eight, learning all about the Romans in school. We had visited a few years ago and were very impressed. However, this time we found the place severely in need of a face lift and very run down. A lot of the areas were extremely tatty and neglected and some of the hands on... More

Purchased through Groupon.co.uk so we had great value for money. Museum needs a good clean and not really suitable for my children's age groups (4 and 6). Especially the video part and the archaeological parts. They enjoyed the hands on room, making mosaic pictures and trying on roman outfits. Museum took us about 30 mins to complete/look around. And them... More

We had to wait to go in from the first room and there was little information. The video presentation (which we had to ask to have started) was brief and not very informative. The archaeological excavations were actually interesting but more for the specialist than the amateur (we saw three very bored children being trailed around) and access is difficult,... More

Just returned from fantastic few days in Chester. However severely let down by the Dewa roman experience. Such a disappointment! Granted the price is not massive but it doesn't want to be when the exhibit is like that. Has such potential as well with the open archaeological sites. But took us about 20 minutes to walk round and when we... More

We went with our two children and paid £17,50 for a family ticket. It started off ok for the first few minutes but then we ended up in what I thought was a building site. Please dont waste your money. It was freezing inside and needs a lot of work doing to justify these prices. Very disapointing considering we had... More

I went in January and although it promised I dont think it really delivered. The ship with the scents and sounds was quite convincing but everything else seemed a bit jaded and had seen better days. It wasnt super expensive but I didnt feel that it was great value for money. To be fair, my nephew and I had jsut... More
