Finally visited this famous attraction after meaning to for six years. I was impressed overall especially with the open dig in the cellar. It cost £5.50 which I think was reasonable for what it is. My one complaint would be that the whole place seems tired and dated, in desperate need of a revamp. That being said its definitely worth... More

A big thank you to Tom, Ryan and Chris for giving our y3 and 4 children such an exciting and informative day. All the staff were pleasant and helpful, despite the slight problems one would expect when renovations are being undertaken. The children chatted 'Roman' all the way back to school.

I attended this as a parent helper on a school trip so I cannot comment on entrance fee as this was covered by the school. We arrived and the children were given shields and taken by a Roman guard to visit the Roman Gardens and Ampitheathre - the gentleman who did this was fantastic, he was engaging and informative. We... More

I went here yesterday 10-1-15 with my friend. We went just for something to do it cost £5.50 to get in which is ok i suppose, could have been cheaper as we only had 45 minutes to spend in there as it was closing early 4 instead of 5, we went around looking at all the stuff it was interesting... Highs and lows, the museum was great and allows hands on interaction, however wasn't very big and was around with an hour. It would be great if your kids are studying Romans at school

I agree with a previous reviewer that £5.50 is too much in its present state, and that it needs more effort in the main areas if they insist on charging this much. More examples such as the initial boat area would be most welcome, and staff were nowhere to be seen apart from the workmen adding a couple of minor... More

you pay at the entrance £5 50 per person then you enter what is called the Gally expieriance which is just some smoke and a plastic man stood over a large drum and a tape recording .then you take a seat and watch a film then you go to a room with a few roman coins and some retro roman... More

Consulted Dewa Website the previous evening and travelled 50 miles to Chester for a family day out. Chap in Roman attire parading round the city, & clear sign posts to Dewa experience - none of which gave any hint that when we arrived at the entrance the place was CLOSED for the day! Informed by a waitress in a nearby... More

I have always had an interest in Roman history - especially in Britain, and given a recent vist to Chester thought the Dewa experince could have been a hour or so in reviewing Roman history in Chester. Although it started quite well, it sort of just "fizzled out", and i left a little disappointed. It was tired, and needed a... More
