Not sure what it is with attractions that try to market as a family attraction and then plunge you into a dark 'atmospheric' room with sinister looking statue doing the intro. Both our kids were terrified and we had to ask to skip this part, rest of the attraction is poorly maintained, series of dark holes with lights and one... More

We were visiting Chester to view local attractions. We found this little Museum tucked away .The fact you can also try on Roman costumes and armour and helmets is great. You can also experience how an archaeologist would feel like on a dig underground, .This is a small museum but well worth a visit. Would definitely recommend having a look.

Nearly £20 for 1 adult and 2 kids. A series of static, poorly lit exhibits, a 3 minute video, one small area where kids could try a small amount of armour and some very dated display cases. Took about 30 minutes and that was spinning it out. Save your money! The Roman Soldier tours from the Tourist Information are cheaper... More

We visited this place last week and found this place dull, non-informative and run down. 5.50 pound is way too much for this place which I felt it looked like a child had put it together. Knowing a bit about the Roman history, I thought this place was non-infortmative and very basic - it may suit kids better though. I... More

Finally visited this famous attraction after meaning to for six years. I was impressed overall especially with the open dig in the cellar. It cost £5.50 which I think was reasonable for what it is. My one complaint would be that the whole place seems tired and dated, in desperate need of a revamp. That being said its definitely worth... More

A big thank you to Tom, Ryan and Chris for giving our y3 and 4 children such an exciting and informative day. All the staff were pleasant and helpful, despite the slight problems one would expect when renovations are being undertaken. The children chatted 'Roman' all the way back to school.

I attended this as a parent helper on a school trip so I cannot comment on entrance fee as this was covered by the school. We arrived and the children were given shields and taken by a Roman guard to visit the Roman Gardens and Ampitheathre - the gentleman who did this was fantastic, he was engaging and informative. We... More

I went here yesterday 10-1-15 with my friend. We went just for something to do it cost £5.50 to get in which is ok i suppose, could have been cheaper as we only had 45 minutes to spend in there as it was closing early 4 instead of 5, we went around looking at all the stuff it was interesting... Highs and lows, the museum was great and allows hands on interaction, however wasn't very big and was around with an hour. It would be great if your kids are studying Romans at school
