Went to Chester for the weekend and walked around the wall on Saturday morning in the light drizzle. There are loads of signs around the way which gives you notes on history or interesting information which only take a few minutes to read and are clear to read. The wall was easy to walk around and wasn't slippy in the... More

If you don't mind steps this a wonderful way to see historic Chester . It is the only City where you can walk round the entire City on the original Roman walls . The views over the Dee ,and the Roodee Racecourse are beautiful and don't miss the Eastgate Clock where you can look down of the crowds in the... More

Even on a wet and cold day; the walls were a good way to see a large section of the city centre. There are plenty of steps at regular intervals and you can get to see of Chester's best tourist spots.

I have walked round The Walls twice now (both times in January) and I would walk them again. The walk is nice and easy to do but because this is a historic structure access is limited to stairs (apart from one section where the Walls join the main footpath) and the floor is uneven in places so if you have... Not too big, not too touristed. But with all the medieval charm on could possible want in a day out. Stroll the walls, the streets and take in the river-side.

You can’t miss the historic Walls of Chester; first built by the Romans, they surround the town even today. They are reputedly the most complete historic walls in the UK. Your best introduction to Chester is to wander along the wall walk. You can imagine being a Roman looking down into the town or out at the surrounding countryside. There... More

When I worked in the city centre I walked around the Walls on my lunch hour with out really taking in the beauty of them. I went back again last month and took the time to read about the history of them. A lovely way to pass an hour. Care, there are quite a few steps along the way if... More

Lovely views from the walls. A bit chilly when we visited but will be back to investigate soon. City views and photo opportunities at each gate and lovely oldie world pubs
