You can walk along the top of the walls, they are wonderful I myself didn't make it all the way around as I don't like heights. The rest of my family enjoyed the whole journey.

My wife and I took our three children (13, 12, 10) for a walk around the walls, when we were visiting Chester in mid-May. We had expected a fair bit of whining from the kids from being forced to do this, but we got only a minimum. There are parts of the walk where there isn't much to see, but... More

Very gently walking which gives an excellent view of Chester. Plenty of places to hop off have a bite and look at places of particular interest.

We walked the Chester walls, it was great to stroll along looking across at the views and down at the town and houses, well worth the time to take in the sights of the area

Great to have a look around before spending the rest of the day shopping. Chester is a beautiful place made all the more interesting by these Roman gardens/walls. All free too, which makes a change although multi-storing parking is very expensive. £5.40 regardless of amount of stay!!

The City Walls are unique - a wonderful way to see the city and get exercise at the same time. History buffs will love it - stop at King Charles' tower, where during the battle of the Roundheads and royalists he saw the defeat of his army at the Battle of Rowton Moor. From the walls you will see the... More

Lovely walk around the town walls, shame you can't access castle. Look forward to returning when the work has finished on the clock tower x
