Architecture - centuries old habited buildings which, obviously, had been saved from destruction and lovingly restored to their present glory. Watching the school children on organised trips in the Roman Garden practising their skill as centurions under the tutelage of an 'adult' Roman soldier! The wall also takes visitors to many parts of the City without having to use the... More

When in Chester we always walk some part of the city walls, often back to our car, which is parked near to the race course. The walls give a brilliant prospective on this lovely city and you can leave them at various points along the way. We stopped off at Telfords Warehouse for some lunch.

A walk around the walls is definitely something you have to do during your visit in Chester! It's really pleasant and gives you an overview of the long history of the place. Take your time to read the information on the way to get to know this cozy town a little bit more. I definitely recommend it to all of... More

A nice walk around the walls is something you should experience if you get the chance. Make sure to read the info boards as you go round, or even pay for a guide to bring the facts of history to life. Don't take a pram, there are plenty of steps and the wall gets thin in some places.

The wall walk is the best way to get the lay of the city. There are places to get off to see places of special interest: Cathedral, University, the river.

A nice walk around Chester, which allows you to see the Cathedral, the main shopping street, the river, the racecourse and more. Well worth doing.

The old buildings are well worth seeing, and the museums are a big plus, being free of charge, and only asking for donations. The Cathedral is nice to look around, and is situated in the city centre. As we arrived in early October the canal barges appear to just run on the weekends, which was a big disappointment .

The Walls provide an excellent way of seeing the city and river Dee and we took just over an hour and a half to stroll right round. A bit dubious at first because I’ve not got a good head for heights (or flexible limbs!) but thanks to the kind reassurances of a TA member, I had a great time. It... More
