Very good way to find your bearings in the city. Lovely views of race course included and not many steps pretty flat with good informative signs giving the historical angle

A Fascinating walk, but beware if you don't like stairs / steps, as it is full of them!! A wet day when we did the walk, so a bit slippery, too, but nonetheless, a nice way to see some of Chester.

I actually worked in Chester for several years and never got round to doing The Walls. A spur of the moment Sunday afternoon decision to go shopping in Chester left me and my husband a little disappointed. (Many shops closed and too many sales) We decided a pub lunch by the river followed by the walk along the walls. I've... More

You can walk and walk and walk on these amazing walls. A full pleasure in itself with plenty of different views and attractions along the way... Chester must be one of the only town worldwide which still has such fantastic protected walls.

For us, this was a great way to get an experience of Chester. We used the walls as our "base", and would climb on and off according to what we saw below. It was a bright, sunny afternoon, and we especially like the way the crowds flocked to the river-it seems that the relatively warm weather had everybody out and... More

We walked the city walls on our recent trip to Chester and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a great way to get your bearings as you do a full circle of the city and see more or less the whole town. There are great stop offs along the way to look out onto the city or the surrounding countryside and learn... More

Parts of the wall looked into the back of car parks and industrial buildings. Not as interesting as York wall.

We did this walk as soon as we arrived and not being familiar with Chester it was a good way to spot nice pubs and other places we wanted to visit. There is some historical info on route and picturesque views - we really enjoyed it.
