Great way t walk round Chester and see if from another angle. Wish every city had these as it is the best way to get round a new place and whilst you can get on and off ar regular places, the lack of shop doorways is a blessing

The walls are a mixture of Victorian and Medieval and pass right through the centre of the shopping area. They are well signposted, with multiple entry points, fabulous circuit, with lots to see.

They are good walls to walk along. Not quite as impressive as those of York. The clock was being repaired while we were there so that probably made me less impressed

Am amazing walled medieval city which also had a Roman past ( Dewa). Great views, fabulous places to dine and beautiful Evensong. Check out the three faces of the clock and hear the story of the blank face.

It is great that Chester still has most of the walls intact, there are often parts under maintenance. This is a great walk suitable for all ages with views of the river Dee, canals castle, race course, cathedral, roman gardens etc. There are many maps and history plaques among the way to show you how the walls have been used... A very pleasant and first time stroll along the walls but also taking in the Racecourse, the Canal and the Riverside. Lovely views and great exercise but plenty of places to stop for refreshments
