Lovely Gardens and an interesting walks. I was on crutches but managed quite comfortably round the grounds and glad we came. The gardens are really nice and if you have small children there are some Alpacas and Lamas to look at as well

The last day of our holiday- the weather was awful but we decided to head off to Cholmondeley as planned. We parked up by the tearooms (ample allocation of disabled parking bays) and headed inside for a warm drink and to see if the rain would subside. Delightful staff chatted to us about our holiday while we sipped our tea,... More

Lovely gardens and nice walk through. The forests enjoyed history of chapel. Not a lot to do if it happens to be raining. Had a lovely very reasonable lunch I tea rooms except for fighting wasps killed 3 while having meal. Disappointed we couldn't look around castle but glad that someone is living there and keeping it running.

We travelled 60 miles to visit Cholmondley Castle Gardens today only to be turned away at the entrance, as there was the Pony club championships on!! Why on earth did it not state on the website that the gardens would be closed to the public while this event was taking place? Such poor communication, very disappointing, even more so as... More

Lovely gardens and grounds. Kept very well and always colour. Make sure you explore the whole grounds and the tea shop is a pleasant place to sit. Excellent if there is a cricket match on. Check the times of opening - don't assume its open!

Expected more here, parking confusing despite having a map. Told we could park by tea rooms, but found that to be disabled parking only. Wanted to see the Chapel, but that was 15 mins walk from the tea room, and once at the tea rooms you can't drive to the Chapel (well according to the map),and there is no access... More

The lake and gardens are really lovely and the little farm quite charming, felt a little sorry for the lone Chinese cockeral he really needs a friend.

Large area of parkland and gardens surround the Castle (which is not open to the public) with plenty of walking between locations in the grounds. Small farm with a few animals and birds to look at, historic Chapel, three formal garden areas with occasional plantings between Worth a visit, but the map of the grounds and signage leaves a little... ..firstly it must be said that despite numerous road signs pointing us to the grounds, when it came to the final few yards the signs stopped and we missed the turning..it was only general knowledge that pointed us along the lane..this is not good enough especially considering the huge variety of possible places to visit in Cheshire..once there, the castle... There is a castle, which you can't access, a lot of space to picnic, or for children to play in, in very, very picturesque surroundings, but not a lot else. The gardens are nice, but not spectacular, and well maintained and there are a few animals in a penned off section, but nothing to really grab your imagination. Great if... More
