A nice way to see Sark

Just a short walk from where you get off the boat in Sark you will find the horse and carts. It's a lively trip around all the lanes.

Really enjoyed taking a horse carriage around Sark. Friendly and informative guide and added to a great day out. Well worth it.

We had a magnificent tour of the island from Rossford, whose family has been on the island for 450+ years. Visited the North coast, passed la Seigneurie (we opted to skip a stop here in favour of continuing the carriage ride). We stopped at la Coupee where we spent a little time, back to the Pilcher Monument, and into town.... More

Leaving aside for one moment that the only other options for getting around the island are bicycle, tractor or Shanks's Pony, a carriage ride is a really brilliant way of getting to understand a bit more bout the island. Our driver was a charming, well informed and tactful "foreigner" who gave us plenty of background, dating back to prehistory through... More

Booked a carriage before arriving, glad we did as when everyone gets to the top of the hill most have gone. We had a 2 hour trip which took us all the way the island, our guide was very entertaining and informative. We had a few stops on the way to have a look around. So peaceful without any traffic... My partner & I had a 2 hour trip by horse & cart which is a great way of seeing the island of Sark. There were 2 stops, one at La Seigneurie Gardens & the other at La Coupee, a spectacular footpath which connects Sark to Little Sark, with sheer drops on either side into the sea below. This was... Booked a private wagonette for 4 people over the Bank Holiday weekend and was glad I had booked as all the carriages were reserved when we arrived. There was some confusion over our booking time and despite having a print out of our 1130 booking, our wagonette had gone on another journey and did not return until 1230. In retrospect... More

The island of Sark is a delight; bijou and untouched by time. The horse and cart is a good way to see the island. Stops are arranged at various venues for you to explore. The horses slowly make their way along the country lanes; the only other users are cyclists and walkers. There is only one drawback, and that is... More

We were lucky enough to get an hour on a carriage with Michelle and went on a beautiful ride around the island. A great way to spend the time seeing this idyllic place. We only had time for a 1 hour trip but I would recommend longer. My teenage boys went off on bikes while we went for a leisurely... More

I took this 2 hour trip on the first day of my week long stay. Ina is a great personality with a delightful sense of humour, who gladly imparts her knowledge of the island's history and superstitions (ask to see the witches' seat). George is a good old horse who takes everything in his stride and is partial to the... More
