We knew the islanders had it tough, but till we visited here we had no idea just how tough life was on the Island. The museum is compelling and moving at the same time. Both the hardships the islanders had to endure and the fighting spirit and ingenuity shown, as well as the dogged will to survive. Then there is... more

A friend and I visited this attraction in July 09. It was extremely well organised and interesting. Lots of memorabelia of the war years and the effects that it had on the ordinary people of the channel islands at that time. Very moving and interesting. One tip though. If you are going to visit them, make sure you have a... more

We went with a coach party , and there were plenty of other coaches in the car park ,so it was busy , and yes we took a coat ,and yes it was dark and gloomy . What we did not realise is that you go around at the pace of the slowest visitor ,and are trapped as you cannot... more

At the entrance they say it takes 2 hours to see the attraction. I visited with my mother and we had seen it all in an hour. We read every display board and ambled around, we certainly didn't rush. It was interesting and it is worth a visit, but just don't expect it to be a full (or even half)... more

This is the best attraction, in my view, on the island. The underground tunnels and hospital are both eerie, moving, exhilarating and thought provoking. Even though we all know the story of WW2 it was brought to life in a refreshing and easy to understand way - top rate - very impressed. The cafe at the top of the tunnels... more

like i said, the stories and olverall gloominess and and sadness will make you upset, but dont worry, some parts are more light hearted, there are fun things for kids to do, and you get a little passport at the beginning of a jersey 1940's inhabitant, after you go through the tunnels, their are pictures of hundreds of people in... more

I went to the tunnels in a mixed family group, from my elderly father and his partner, down to my own young children and we all found the experience interesting, moving and very touching. I often find museums dull and rather dry but this was different -- this gave you an insight into the reality of the occupation, both for... more

Whilst I can understand the arguement that these are perhaps a little pricey (£9 for an adult), I was so pleased that I visited this site. The exhibition in the tunnels about the German Occupation was interesting, informative and thought provoking. I enjoyed learning about what the people of Jersey went through. I thought the exhibition had been put together... more

I have visited the War Tunnels a total of three times now with at least ten years between each visit. It has changed a lot during that time. The very first visit was the best because the tunnels had pretty much been left as is, with concrete, unpainted walls and dripping corridors. It was a bit scary and echoed. You... more
