The Prince Albert is a often referred to as Ely's 'Proper Pub'. Expect to find 6 cask ales served, all kept very well, 3 of which are rotated on a monthly basis. The pub has had a recent refurbishment but has retained its traditional charm. It has also started offering good quality, freshly prepared food at lunch times from Monday to Saturday and in the evening from Monday to Friday. If you are looking for a comfortable, traditional and friendly pub that serves good beer and good quality food then visit the Prince Albert.

The menu says "Ely's Proper Pub" Has a real pub feel to it and a very comprehensive lunch menu - I suspect a talented chef behind the scenes and I will definitely return in an evening. My colleagues had the White Bait @ £6.95 and said it was delicious. I opted for a Red Leicester, spring onion & mayo sandwich... More

Delightful restaurant with seating in an attractive room and a pretty garden with seating too. The menu was varied and imaginative and the food was delicious. Service was good. Slightly off the beaten track, we would never have found it if we had not been recommended by the nice man in Juia's Tea Room. Not particularly cheap, but good value.

Always enjoy going to the quiz night. Lots of teams turn up and the quiz isn't too long, only 60 questions. £2 a person entry for which you get free sandwiches and bits. Also prize money if you win!

Good food unless you are a vegetarian. Same tired, lazy veggie options. Lovely decor, shame about the unfriendly waitress who spent most of her time chatting in the kitchen. She was surly, disinterested and unwelcoming. Due to this not sure would bother going again.

My fiancé and I went here for lunch today. I really cannot understand where some of the negative comments came from on here, maybe there went to a different Prince Albert....! We couldn't fault anything, the roast beef was absolutely delicious as was the dessert. The staff were friendly and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others. I am looking... More

We have been back twice since the refurbishment and are going again today. It is a real bonus to be able to park free at the Cathedral CP and just walk through the lane to a friendly greeting at the bar. It is especially nice that the front bar has been kept for the locals as a food free area.... More

Ate Sunday lunch here on September 7 2014. One of the worst lunches we have experienced, sirloin of beef undercooked, pork loin overcooked, vegetables very soggy, seemed as if they were reheated up from previous evening. Service very slow. Not good value and I would not recommend this establishment.

If all you want is a Sunday dinner do not go here. I like what they've done with the building but I go to a restaurant to have a meal. Anorexic heaven!!!
