Expect to find 6 cask ales served, all kept very well, 3 of which are rotated on a monthly basis. The pub has had a recent refurbishment but has retained its traditional charm. It has also started offering good quality, freshly prepared food at lunch times from Monday to Saturday and in the evening from Monday to Friday. If you are looking for a comfortable, traditional and friendly pub that serves good beer and good quality food then visit the Prince Albert. « less

We have been back twice since the refurbishment and are going again today. It is a real bonus to be able to park free at the Cathedral CP and just walk through the lane to a friendly greeting at the bar. It is especially nice that the front bar has been kept for the locals as a food free area.... More

Ate Sunday lunch here on September 7 2014. One of the worst lunches we have experienced, sirloin of beef undercooked, pork loin overcooked, vegetables very soggy, seemed as if they were reheated up from previous evening. Service very slow. Not good value and I would not recommend this establishment.

If all you want is a Sunday dinner do not go here. I like what they've done with the building but I go to a restaurant to have a meal. Anorexic heaven!!!

Called here with friends for a few beers, not been here for a while and the refurbishment looks good, great selection of beer and beer garden looks much better. I will definitely be back to try the food. Keep up the good work

Offered a taste of several bitters and a delicious mild before making our choice. Lunch of cauliflower soup and garlic mushrooms on toast, followed by beef stew and dumplings and gammon and duck egg. Landlord very chatty and welcoming. Would have liked to stay longer had time allowed! The food was very tasty, could do with a snooze now!!

We haven't been to the Albert since it changed hands, it's still an old fashioned pub where you can talk, and the beer was good. The food, service, attitude was terrible and we didn't even get some of our order. Went in feeling hungry after a long walk, most of us came out feeling hungrier. There are lots of good... More

Haven't been to the Albert in a while. Popped in today and thought the new paint job looked great. Lovely little place, brilliant friendly service and excellent food.

The lunchtime food was excellent the lamb Tagine was very well cooked the dessert was also memorable. The beer I had was well kept (Osset Brewery) the cloudy cider at 7.3% is without doubt falling down fluid. This pub is well worth a visit.
