This museum is easy to miss as it is away from the main 'touristy' parts of Cambridge. This is a good thing as it meant there was very few people the day I visited and I was able to view the exhibits at a leisurely pace. A hidden gem, not a big place but full of interesting artefacts from the... More

There is so much of interest in this museum. Firstly, it was built as a memorial to Captain Scott and polar research continues to this day at the University. Secondly, there is lots of information and incredible artefacts about the age of exploration in the Arctic and Antarctic. Thirdly, the museum informs visitors about the people who live in the... I'm a polar exploration-buff, so this museum was a must for me when I came to Cambridge. The museum is small, but the exhibits are very interesting - and expertly chosen and presented. I am sure it would suit someone who didn't know anything about polar exploration as well as those with a more thorough knowledge of the subject.

It's a small but full of valuable information museum about polar exploration period. It's a good example for museum addicts and people who wants to learn more about this subject.

Lots to look at and two good sheets for children of different ages. They liked the fancy dress box and the musueam was relaxed enought that they ended up walking round the whole thing with the snow boots and mask on.

The museum was extremely interesting, with fascinating exhibits. At the time of our visit it was the centenary and his grand daughter had been to the Arctic and painted pictures of what shew had seen including penguins. Very logical lay out and informative.- well worth a visit.

The museum located in central Cambridge, contains not only the history of Scott's tragic expedition but also fascinating artifacts from the early explorers who ventured in to the unknown Arctic regions. The exhibits follow a logical path and give one a meaningful sense of what those intrepid men endured in that forbidden area of the world. The only negative was... More
