We went in the last of august; gorgeous day and crowded. Lines for punting moved quickly and our punt guide was just terrific, funny, witty and very strong. She sure knew her way around that river and all on board had a blast watching the other lay punters!

45 minute punt was great. Our oarsman was very knowledgeable and told us loads of interesting facts. We bought our tickets off a guy who stopped us as were walking by he showed us a board which had various prices written on it. Adult tickets were shown as £20 and student tickets were 15 he said that he could do... More

Not cheap but well worth the price especially on a sunny day. The cost with Scudamore's was £17.50 each, however we later found that if you go to the Tourist Information office you can get discount tickets.

We went with the Cambridge Punting Company and the guide was very knowledgeable and good. The river gets very busy and our punter knew how to avoid a gridlock.

Recommend a punt trip to see all the various colleges from the water - The Punt 'drivers', probably not the best term or correct all seem to be very knowledgeable of the history and give a good commentary while avoiding the amateur punt rentals!

Another of those bucket list experiences of 'things one must do in the UK'. Hope for a nice day and lookout for the discounted offers and champagne trips.

Nice river. Very small and the waters are very calm. Ideal for punting and relaxing. The bridges over it are ver nice and some are iconic (the Bridge of Sighs for instance).

The river is a lively and vibrant place. It makes for a pleasant afternoon to punt along the river and people watch. Plenty of nice sights on the river banks as well.
