I go the Picturehouse at least once a month. I'm not going to review films here, but want to recommend the place for its vibrant atmosphere. The whole place is buzzing, and the restaurant/bar area is great. Service is a little slow and having to queue down the steps for the bar is a bit of a pain, but it's... More

Great choice of films, very relaxed feel to the place with the bar upstairs and the comfortable small sized cinema screening rooms. Lovely staff ,very enthusiastic, always happy to look after you at the point of collection and buying snacks area. Its a wonderful Art Deco building and full credit for keeping this type of independent art house cinema alive.

Lots of good points: great choice of independent films including the annual summer film festival & free previews for members; a nice atmosphere & decent bar area; they treat you like adults (ie. you can bring alcohol into screenings & they don't try to confiscate your belongings!) The only bad points for me are the fact it gets very busy,... More

good place to have a rest, study and chilling. There is a comfortable sofa. Film theatre is next to this cafe. You may spend a nice day off around this place.

Excellent place to see films. Great cafe, you can take beer into the auditorium and they show art house movies and non mainstream stuff as well as theatre live streams and mainstream movies

.... we used to smuggle a bottle of port and enough glasses into Cambridge Cinemas - now I can relax in a comfortable seat with a LARGE glass of decent , affordable red wine and watch good films in the centre of the city .

Attended several films during Cambridge Film Festival here. Great theatres. Bar area a bit old fashioned, dimly lit, and not too comfortable. But once inside, theatre seats are comfortable, atmosphere intimate, sound quality good.

We have been coming here for years. It used to be the Old Regal built in the 1930's I believe. Love that steep, small cinema rooms. Love the fact you can have a glass of wine on comfy sofas. Love the fact that I have somewhere to see off beat or foreign films. My worry comes from that I have... More

To think this was once part of the massive Regal cinema, the location in the centre of town, now above the weatherspoons pub a converted flicks, combines the tastes of Cambridge and history.

Always showing something different. Its my personal favourite as there is a lift and reception area and takes me back in time to when a visit to the cinema was a pleasure...no freezing air con...no noisy teens...no mobile phones and a nice place for the family...even reasonable food!! Near buses and taxis and very central. I think they do shows... More
