Lovely little cinema

Nice little, cosy cinema. Not impersonal like the chains. I it's a film you want to see it's better to visit the Picture House. Well worth a visit.

I don't care if this is a slightly more intimate place to go and watch a film, but at £9.50 for a large glass of wine this place is so pretentiously, hideously overpriced that I shall never be returning. For the pleasure of being ripped off, there were sticky tables, dirty toilets and disgusting floors, with rubbish, popcorn and other... More

The cinema is pleasant but the staff at the bar have a serious attitude problem. On more than one occasion have been almost embarrassed by how rude they are. Literally, sighing and eye rolling at customers. Come on management, sort out your front of house.

Great selection of films. Great location. Good seats. Cramped bar and ticket area. Screens could be bigger. £22.00 for two tickets!

I have been here a number of times and I love the charm of the place - so different from the multi screen cinemas nowadays. It is slightly more expensive than the cinemas slightly further out but I think it is worth it for the atmosphere and the convenience of being in town (my daughters are both at colleges very... This is such a lovely place to come for a light meal even if you're not seeing a film. The café is beautifully decorated and has a great atmosphere with a birds-eye view of St. Andrew's Street. The menu is varied and has a good vegetarian selection with lots of dishes you can share. The bar has a tempting selection... More

We always go here in preference to any other cinema as it is central and very civilised, with the opportunity to have a drink while watching you chosen film. Also a pleasant cafe area, and another area with sofas to have a quiet drink while waiting. I like being able to book your seat online days ahead. Sometimes the films... More

I go the Picturehouse at least once a month. I'm not going to review films here, but want to recommend the place for its vibrant atmosphere. The whole place is buzzing, and the restaurant/bar area is great. Service is a little slow and having to queue down the steps for the bar is a bit of a pain, but it's... More

Great choice of films, very relaxed feel to the place with the bar upstairs and the comfortable small sized cinema screening rooms. Lovely staff ,very enthusiastic, always happy to look after you at the point of collection and buying snacks area. Its a wonderful Art Deco building and full credit for keeping this type of independent art house cinema alive.
