This green area is surrounded by some iconic buildings. A good place to sit for a short break and survey the scenery. We were intrigued by the tree with lots of shoes hanging in it near the hotel.

College Green is surrounded by wonderful buildings, Bristol Cathedral, the Council House, and just a short walk from St Augustine's Parade and the foothills of Park Street with its great shops. People sit on the green at lunchtime and soak up the sun or just the peaceful ambiance!

In the middle of Bristol city centre. Easy to get to. Also nice and peaceful to just watch the world go by. Close to shops and everything you need.

Sometimes planners get it 100% right. Like when they closed the road which ran along the bottom of the Green. Bravo - looks nice and much used and loved. Along the same lines as closing the roundabout outside Buckingham Palace or the road between the National Gallery and Trafalgar Square. It makes this heart of Bristol more human. Not stunning... My recent trip to Bristol found me resting for a couple of hours each early afternoon at College Green. You can sit in the sun on the benches or on the grass, or find a shady spot under (or shaded by) a tree. Directly across the road is a small Tesco so you can pick up supplies if you didn't... More

Opposite Bristol Cathedral and the shops in Park Street. Very close to Bristol Centre and the harbourside. Great views of the University and the whole of park street. Within walking distance of Harbourside, Brandon Hill, Bristol Hippodrome, Colston Hall,Queen Street and Queen road. Steps not far away which lead down to Frogmore Street.

Beautiful oasis in the centre of Bristol. Mostly full of kids desperately trying to reenact their own version of skins. In the summer it is quite crowded but you can normally find a spot to enjoy an ice cream and have a lounge.

There's a lot of young people sat in the grass, a lot of seagull who want to steal your sandwich but it's nice and close to everything
