We hired the Matilda boat for the Booze Cruise on my brothers Stag Do. Excellent day, great staff. Had a little issue with the boat but was fixed extremely quick Highly recommend The Cottage & Grain Barge if you decide to do the Booze Cruise!

We had a lovely trip to the city centre and back, from Temple Meads Quay side. The crew are very knowledgable about the city and the river and are a very friendly, happy bunch. I would advise this as one of the first things a visitor does in the city as it is a good, gentle introduction to the important... More

With the great weather we have had lately the ferries are the best way to get from one end of docks to the other or across as the need takes you. The staff running the boats are friendly and now put on a safety routine in case of accidents aboard. The first ferry, I choose, had a grommet at the... More

We bought Day tickets, which meant we could hop on and off the ferry boats all day. There are three boats plying the waterways from wharf to wharf, at various spots around the harbour, and we enjoyed sitting and enjoying the breeze and the views, and visiting the M Shed, Montgomery's Tea rooms, etc. A well-run and great service for... Although it had been raining hard all day when we was there the young ladies on the crew was still smiling and informing us that it ensured that they had plenty of water to be able to float in, very cheap to cross the harbour £0.80 per person and a great saving on the feet

The Bristol Ferries operate all year round and are while most users are leisure travellers the ferries are set up primarily as transport, not as pleasure trips (so no commentaries, etc). There are two routes, one from the City Centre to Hotwells in the Western suburbs, the other from the City Centre to Temple Meads Station. The Hotwells route is... More
