My son loves Avon Valley Railway to go and see the “Hot trains”, so we had a family Post-Christmas rail trip, marketed as the “Mince Pie Special”. Avon Valley is not a full railway with a start and end destination, instead you travel out from the main station in one direction, turned around at one end of the line and... More

We come here quite a bit, and have eaten meals and snacks and all of them have been very fresh and well cooked and served by friendly staff, best of all it is very good value for money, the cafe is a credit to the business, well done.

Took a trip on the Santa train with our 3 year old grandson. He loved the train but is still frightened of Santa. All the staff were brilliant. We also had my disabled mother with us and they accommodated well with a ramp to put down making it easier for her to get onto the train. Half of our party... More

Along with my husband, toddler and in laws we took advantage of a Sherry & Mince Pie special and were pleasantly surprised. We were offered a good portion of sherry (with orange juice as an alternative) and a mince pie (star gingerbread biscuit as an alternative). The sherry was Harvey's Bristol Cream and the food items were good quality. We... More

I would highly recommend the Santa Trains. The whole experience from booking to riding on the train is excellent. It's very well organised, Santa is very attentive and the mince pie that is given out is delicious. The gift form Santa was well chosen and good quality. The trains themselves are lovely and the cabin we had was great and... More

This was a very boring Santa experience. The wagon was extremely hot. The Santa could not care less about what he was doing, he seemed very bored - did not care about the names of the kids while presenting presents. The letter we received said that we could change the present if we did not like it. When I asked... More

A great experience. Plenty of parking. Smartly dressed guards. Great quality present from Santa (you select according to age/sex). Choice of mince pie or biscuit. A traditional Santa happy to sit for photos. 1 stop where you can get off and see the steam train and talk to Santa and the guards. Journey time 1 hour. Gift shop on platform.... More

We have just got back from our annual Santa Special trip on the AVR with our granddaughter. This year was the best experience we have had to date. Our tickets were ready for collection and there were a good number of staff who were able to guide us to the exact carriage. We know the journey isn't that long but... More
