Ashton Court is still within the city and you can get there by bus, X2, X3 from bus station or wessex red bus 12 to Bower Ashton. The park is quite big. We walk around the perimeter and it can take us over an hour. The balloon and the kite festival take place there in summer. You get good views... More

Love walking here through the Forests and fields to the big house - it's beautiful. Watch out for all the deer, beautiful to see them all up close!

I love going to Ashton Court - we have a dog and live in Clifton; we wander down and across the suspension bridge on a regular basis for a good explore of the grounds. The place is massive, with loads of little paths and almost no car-ridden roads. In the summer, there are usually a few ice cream vans kicking... More

Our daughters wedding took place at Ashton Court on 26th July 2014. From start to finish it was an excellent day, all was superbly organised by Sharon and her team, with particular thanks to Grace and Christine. The ceremoney took place in the Music Room which looked absolutely stunning. While all family and guests went outside for much needed refreshment and photographs... More

Ashton Court is our local(ish) haunt. A great place to walk dogs and bring kids, it's a large estate of rolling hills, woodland, a golf course, some manicured gardens, and of course a mansion house. The mansion house has a cafe offering a variety of snacks and sweet choices, and while dogs aren't allowed inside, there is a large courtyard... More

The exeptional house and gardens have a slightly neglected and downcast air about them and there is a sense that the City council, while pleased to have it all, doesn't really know what to do with it. There is none of the sense of purpose that goes with privately owned or National Trust owned properties of similar stature. We were... More

There's not a huge amount to see. If you have a dog it might be more enjoyable. The cafe served good food but the queue was huge and crowds ruined the experience. The sights aren't that great. Not recommended unless you're taking something to do with you like a picnic or a football
