Dad's 80th birthday treat. Drinks in a downstairs lounge (do castles have lounges? Surely a drawing room!) with lovely nibbles especially the warm cheese pastries. Table laid out for the eight of us in a private upstairs panelled room where I've eaten before in a larger group, very impressive. Superb food and wines we all had a great experience: attentive... If you've never stayed in a castle before, this is a recommended experience. The castle and grounds are delightful. The room we had (DeClare) has the most impressive four poster bed we've ever slept in. The room was well equipped and comfortable. In terms of handy tips, as this is a castle/historic building, there may be times of the year... More

Was given a voucher for Afternoon tea as a birthday present, but what a lovely gift. It was a lovely sunny afternoon and we were served tea in the library. Thoroughly enjoyed the sandwiches, scones and beautiful tiny klittle cakes. Also a never ending supply of fresh tea and/or coffee for as long as we wanted. A great venue for... More

For a bit of 'posh' this is one of the best places for dining on the North side of Bristol. Always rather refined. Great cuisine, and excellent service. Great for a special occasion.

As beautiful as it was 25 years ago ! We stayed in the same tower room which was just as luxurious as I remembered.

Me and my wife stayed here on a Sunday night en route to cornwall for the week and had an excellent experience. We were able to take out dog (Elvis), had a friendly and warm welcome from all of their staff and received great service for both dinner and breakfast meals. In regards to the food....the dinner we had was... More

My friend and I went for afternoon tea for my birthday treat and it was fabulous. The surroundings were lovely and we sat in a little raised window alcove in the library. Plenty of tea and refills and a glorious array of sandwiches, cakes and scones with cream and jam. Too much for us to manage, but they very kindly... More

Nice castle. Worth a visit and afternoon tea there. Easy to park in their car park. Walk around the castle and garden.
