Wow, wow, wow! So glad we travelled to Bristol to see this grand lady. She was the largest passenger carrying vessel of her time... and the first passenger ship to combine being built of iron with being equipped with a screw propeller! So many firsts! She was also the first iron steamer to cross the Atlantic! If you get a... More

It's an interesting display and the restaurant is very good. There's so much more they could do with it but we are generally more used to American attractions so they do things with a little more razzmatazz!

What a great interactive, industrial archeology and archival experience. Brunel's wonderful engineering marvel is brought fantastically to life, both physically, in it's innovative dry dock home, and mentally. as old diary entries and the recreations of the SS Great Britian in all it's different useful forms throughout the years bring it and the different ages it had it's working life... What a triumph this is!. The way the ship and museum is presented makes this a one the best historical monuments I have visited. The museum is interesting and the ship and dock side outstanding. A thoroughly enjoyable 3 hours spent here It would be a criminal offence to loose this classical part of our heritage. Please support it.

The ship / museum is just brilliant! We have been several times. The attached cafe, whilst friendly, has a limited menu and very dirty tables. Staff please take note and wipe them over! Prices reasonable though.

Great day out for adults and kids. Hard work has gone into making this an interest for all. Historic information, props of the age, interactivity and access outside and in of the great I K Brunel ship herself.

The story of the Ship's development and leap in the 'technology' of the time is put in to perfect context by the period museum and artefacts of the 19th Century. The museum has interest for those interested in history and science at all levels of understanding. The key feature is viewing the ship from beneath in its original dry dock... More
