Alongside the world class collection of art, the house contains the fascinating stories of the people who have shaped the history of both the Abbey and the nation; including the ‘creation ‘ of Afternoon Tea. The Gardens, with a twenty year restoration programme, are of equal splendour with 28 acres of Repton designs to be explored and discovered.Throughout the year Woburn also hosts a series of events including: classic cars rallies, The Woburn Abbey Garden Show, summer theatre, the country fair, vintage airplane rally and autumn deer walks. « less

The approach to the house is magnificent and we saw plenty of deer. The house and contents are spectacular, and the staff wertre very friendly and knowledgeable. The tea rooms were spacious with seating indoors as and out. The grounds are very large with lots to see and do. Brilliant place!

Woburn abbey is very well run and I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. I am a member of the historic houses association so I must confess that my admission was free with my membership pass. The staff couldn't have done more. When I arrived the lady on reception pointed all of the attractions and facilities out to... More

A very good way to spend a few hours on a sunny day. The gardens are very well maintained, the house, although not the biggest to walk around, is full of history and very knowledgeable guides in every room to answer your many questions. Refreshments are a little on the pricey side

We were there on Sunday, super drive through the lovely grounds. We were able to see stags sitting watching as we drove by. We had to slow right down at one point as about a hundred deer and fawns ran out of the trees, across the road and into the trees on the other side of the road. This was... More

Saw Shakespeares' play The Tempest performed by the Pantaloons in the open air in the grounds of the abbey.what a wonderful setting for a truly enjoyable evenings entertainment. Driving through the deer park was also lovely.

Visited Woburn Abbey in June 2014 for the garden show. I have to thank the security guard at the car park who helped me with assembling my grandfathers scooter, and also whilst I had my hands full with my young son. And then thank him again for helping me load my car when i was leaving, customer service at its... More

We enjoyed our visit to Woburn. Thought the gardens and lake area were outstanding. Enjoyed our visit to the house but were disappointed to find we could have had a free audio tour although this was shown in the entrance. Thought there was a lack of choice in the restaurant.

We started seeing large stags as we drove from the gate lodge to the car park (2 miles). The house was not too busy and both it and the gardens were magnificent. The staff all welcomed us and were happy both to chat and to inform. The tearoom was excellent value for money, but if you want to take advantage... More
