Alongside the world class collection of art, the house contains the fascinating stories of the people who have shaped the history of both the Abbey and the nation; including the ‘creation ‘ of Afternoon Tea. The Gardens, with a twenty year restoration programme, are of equal splendour with 28 acres of Repton designs to be explored and discovered.Throughout the year Woburn also hosts a series of events including: classic cars rallies, The Woburn Abbey Garden Show, summer theatre, the country fair, vintage airplane rally and autumn deer walks. « less

We visited on bank holiday Monday in the rain. I thought it was pricey for what you actually get to see and do. The house was lovely although you couldn't see all of it. The guides in each room were amazing and very informative. There was a private function on which meant that there were areas we weren't able to... More

The house in interesting, but nothing you will remember: in comparison to other grand houses of Britain (Chatsworth, Burghley, SHugborough, Blenheim, Hopetoun, Castle Howard). At the beginning of august the gardens were already at the end of their seasonal beauty, with few flowers and a rather wild aspect. The highlight of the visit is the large deer park you drive... Went for afternoon tea for my daughter's 21st birthday, it wasn't as posh as she was expecting but the food and service were exceptional and the gardens are beautiful. Great value.

Loved it . I have been here a couple of times . The first time I did the whole walk around the house and see all the rooms and the trinkets and pictures .... You really could spend all day in there. The second time I went I took my mum Maureen , it was one of the last things... More

This is how it should be done! Woburn is an old hand at dealing with visitors and Brits and foreigners alike should take the trouble to make this must see visit. The entrance fee is relatively high but you will see some remarkable stuff. There are world class treasures here; art such as the Armada portrait; enough Canalettos to satisfy... More

Gem of a house. Fascinating history related through superb paintings and personal items from family archive displayed thoughtfully and clearly. Food in restroom very good value, staff were AMAZING....in-house ones sensitive and knowledgeable. Special thanks due to helpful ticketing staff who helped resolve a problem( of my own making) with online booking web page.

We spent a very pleasant and relaxing 3 hours here exploring the old Abbey and the beautiful gardens. The Abbey, like the other historic homes we've seen, is very well presented with staff on hand to both answer questions and... to stop you attempting to take photo's. The bedoom of Queen Victoria is most interesting - as is the story... More

A relaxed afternoon spent in the gardens and around the house. The gardens are worth a long ramble around especially off the beaten path. The house is full of portrait art of the family as well as beautifully set out rooms. The staff are knowledgable and keen to talk. There are some lovely personal touches from the youngest members of... More

Stunning home... incredible grounds and lovely to see so many deer roaming free, the cafe had great home cooked meals at good prices, often not the case in these venues. Formal gardens very nice, only sorry we didn't have enough time to look around the house... we will return for a weekend
