Every time I visit the Swiss gardens my mind skips back 40 years to school and reading The Secret Garden in primary school. The beautiful mature grounds evoke a time gone by a victorian ladies taking the air around the grounds. Beautifully restored after being lost to the ravages of time and nature a quiet autumn afternoon is the best... More

I have been to the Swiss garden on the shuttleworth estate many times. It's a lovely peaceful garden to walk around only interrupted by the occasional squawk of one of the peacocks there. There is a large pond in the centre with many ducks on it. The variety of plants and trees are vast, there's a lovely little Swiss cottage... More

I've visited The Swiss Garden many times, and it gets better with every visit as the restoration of the gardens continue. This place is truly unique with many unexpected buildings to discover. Sit on every bench and there is something different to look at. I can't praise this place enough. Visiting here is my instant form of stress relief. Interesting... More

I entered the garden on an inclusive ticket which I had to see the air display at the airfield next door. What an oasis of calm in spite of a few biplanes dashing through the skies nearby. There are nice little bridges and gazebos etc in the well laid out gardens as well as ponds and plantlife amongst the lawns... More

These gardens are beautiful, a riot of colour in the late Spring. It's very relaxing, the Peacocks like to show off occassionally, the ducks are as chilled out as ever! They all seem very used to us humans. Definitely a place to collect your thoughts and enjoy the views. The cafe served nice cakes too (although the main meals looked... More

While my husband visited the hangers with the old airoplanes of the Shuttleworth Collection, I spent a great few hours walking and exploring the garden and got some stunning photo's. Lots of good photo opportunities. There are numerous different bridges to cross over and photograph too. Look out for the beautiful peacocks that go out of their way to help... More

If you like old gardens, you'll love this one! About 10 acres of early 19th Century landscaping that was rescued from oblivion after WWII and lovingly re-crafted. A wonderful place to 'get away from it all', to sit and think, read, walk, and have a tasy snack in the cafe attached. Everywhere is pleasing to the eye.
