I had heard of the Shuttleworth collection however never visited. I was lucky enough to be invited to escort a pack of Cub Scouts to an evening at Shuttleworth. The gentleman taking us around was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the planes. I thoroughly enjoyed it but I am in my 40's. The cubs, in my opinion found it a... More

The collection is a wonderful look at the history of flying with lots of original examples of aeroplanes and vehicles with their associated history. On certain days there are flying displays, and many of the exhibits are in flying or running order. There is a nice reasonably priced restaurant/café and everywhere is accessible by wheel chair. Its a wonderful place... More

I went part of a charity that runs for disabled children. Firstly it wasn't displayed clearly that we wouldnt be able to eat other food and drinks in the cafe! Even though our young people that have special dietary requirements we still got told to leave in a very rude way. At the end of the day our staff werent... More

These gardens, which have recently reopened after extensive restoration, are in the process of growing into an absolute delight, There are several interesting very mature trees, including an extra large common oak, and many new plants have recently been set out and should look great in a couple of years time. At the time of our visit a team of... More

Like previous reviewer Fi2010, I made a 100 mile plus one way trip in attrocious weather as I had booked online to see the WW1 commemoration air show which despite the rain mostly clearing away by the afternoon was still cancelled - fully understandably as the old planes are very fragile and there was still a strong gusty wind with... A split site - the Shuttleworth Collection and the Swiss Garden - makes for an interesting few hours. I preferred the garden, but my husband found the Shuttleworth Collection of great interest!

We visited here to watch an air display as well as the collection but alas this was not to happen as the weather was dreadful. However, the Shuttleworth Collection made a huge effort to make the displays as interesting as possible and we did eventually see some flying by the Dawn Patrol who have remote controlled aircraft. The restaurant is... More

If this place wasn't worth four stars before, it certainly is now because the adjoining Swiss garden has just been opened. This is a delight, not so much for the plants but for the many interesting rural "Swiss" buildings and the many examples of excellent wrought iron work. Lots of lovely little bridges over landscaped ponds, huge trees, and an... More

Having not been here for over 20 years we were quite immpressed how it has grown and yet still retained its soul. The aim is to collect and maintain old vehicles in working order, especially early aircraft. So here you can see the worlds oldest aeroplane, 1910, in flying condition and the oldest British aeroplane in flying condition. The can... More
