Due to time constraints, my brother and I were limited to 11 days to complete this walk. Due to financial constraints, we opted to wild camp and prepare our own food. What I am very proud to say is we managed to complete the walk for less than £200.00 each with no serious injury, but boy of boy, was it... More

We have just completed the Coast to Coast walk and would recommend it to any reasonably fit person with a BUT prepare as I consider myself fairly fit ( run few times a week including odd marathon) it is the cumulative effect of walking average of 15 miles a day (we did 12 walking days with no rest day) that... We just completed the walk, a total for us of just over 300k after we lost our way a few times. Met some wonderful people and really got to know the England that is outside of London. You see real people in their daily lives, including the working dogs and getting up close and personal with farm animals! The walk... More

I recently did this walk with my adult son in the fall of the year. I did the walk in 13 days; my son had a commitment so we were able to do only the first five days together, but that allowed us to do the Lake District part (to Shap) together; though the entire walk is excellent, the Lake... I know this has all been said before but I have to repeat it again; Wainrights Coast to Coast hike is one of life's most memorable experiences. If you are thinking of doing it do it! I did not realise how, once hiking this most beautiful country, the stresses of life just disappear ( as did the bags under my... More

Used Sherpa for bag transport / arranging lodging for our 18 day self directed adventure in June / July 2015. The weather was great -- we only had two days impacted by rain and even then our rain gear stood us in good stead. Starting in St. Bees and ending in Robin Hood's Bay the 192 miles were challenging --... More

we decided if we were going to make the huge effort to walk the coast to coast, we would put ourselves in the hands of experts, and booked with north west walks. They did all the hard work of organising the B and b's, moving the bags to the next stop etc. we have stayed in some superb hostels, whilst... More

We did the hike this year, but with only 2 weeks free, we had to skip a few sections. There is so much to see and do, that if you try to do the whole thing in 2 weeks or less you will not have time to enjoy the places along the way. If you have the money, I definitely... More

We walked 90 percent of the first half of the C2C from St. Bees to Kirby Stephen as a family of four. We used Sherpa to make lodging reservations and haul luggage. They also provided additional maps and advice. The Lake District is stunning and the hiking challenging. We found we enjoyed each day more if the length of the... More

Six of us, all over age 65, attempted this hike from the Irish Sea to North Sea in May of this year. I had many doubts before and during the trek, but it is doable by anyone with determination and a reasonable degree of good health. We spend 16 days hiking with one rest day in Richmond. The mileages varied... More
