Caudwell's Mill itself is a water turbine-powered flour mill, the successor to the old stone-ground wind and waterwheel mills. If you like industrial archaeology and finding out how things work, it is well worth a trip round, it is not disabled accessible due to the design of the old building. I would be a little nervous taking very small children... More

With so many tourist attractions in the surrounding areas, Caudwell Mill needs to pull its socks up. Not the best first impression with the state of the carpark, full of big potholes and scattered gravel. The whole place lacks atmosphere. Its interesting to see how the mill works and to visit the glass shop, but beyond that its all a... More

The only complete victorian water-turbine powered mill in the country it is fascinating to walk around. Pop into the Mill shop and purchase some floor or biscuits or browse the gift shop, well worth a visit.

Visited the Mill at lunchtime, thought we would have a bite to eat. We were not disappointed. Excellent food and service. We will be back.

Our first choice of cafe is closed on Mondays, so this place was our second choice. I thought the layout was interesting, as you queue down the centre of the tables and benches, although despite being busy it lacked atmosphere somehow. Maybe it needs music or more interaction with the staff? The menu provided plenty of interest and the food... More

Had lunch at Caudwell's on 30th December. 6th visit this year. Great food, superb value and a lovely setting. Free parking and quaint gift shop opposite the cafe. Fantastic for veggies as the entire menu is vegetarian or vegan. Shame there aren't more places like this.

There is free parking. As you walk towards the craft centre, there is a lovely lawned area with a small bridge on the right that you can walk over to see the working flour mill wheel in action. There is a bench under the trees where you can sit and look out over the fields across from the centre where... More

We've visited the mill and craft centre many times (but not recently) its still very good, the shops are nice, and worth a look round. I stocked up on flour which is very good. It was a Sunday afternoon when we visited and despite sticking our heads in the door a couple of times couldn't get a table in the... More
