craft show piece

Well signed with a good free car park and interesting local businesses showcasing locally produced crafts. A reasonable tearoom and a river walk in pleasant setting

Brilliant sunshine, a mill race, sheep and lambs nearby. A cafe serving featherlite cakes accompanied by a pot of flavourful tea and all this plus viewing a working water mill set some 30 minutes from the heart of Sheffield . Incredible! Obviously the weather played a vital part but the mill is with a visit whatever, living history with the... More

We just dropped into the Mill shop - and it was a little disappointing. Lots of things in it but most of the items were commercial and not so much home made and crafty, as we had expected.

I never thought that a flour mill would be so interesting! All these steelworks from Victorian era are still working - what an everlasting quality and easy to repair. They are far better working than all these new mills and flour producing machines of today. The water turbine shows how environmental-friendly machines can be! No gas and no electricity needed... Really enjoyed our visit here. The cafe is excellent serving vegetarian food but even my meat loving teenage son enjoyed the sausages! If you are planning on visiting the cafe for lunch go early since it gets very busy. The mill is fascinating and the gift shop has a nice selection of goods - not tat. There is a lovely... More

Only visited the mill to look at the craft shops that they have there, the glass shop was lovely and the owner was welcoming, Visited the gift shop was full of unusual gifts and trinkets for all to enjoy.

My little boy loved visiting the mill and has been talking about it all week. We visited it 2 days in a row. Perfect for rainy day activity. Visited the gift shop too which has lovely stock although a couple of the staff are not very friendly.

Caudwell's Mill itself is a water turbine-powered flour mill, the successor to the old stone-ground wind and waterwheel mills. If you like industrial archaeology and finding out how things work, it is well worth a trip round, it is not disabled accessible due to the design of the old building. I would be a little nervous taking very small children... More

With so many tourist attractions in the surrounding areas, Caudwell Mill needs to pull its socks up. Not the best first impression with the state of the carpark, full of big potholes and scattered gravel. The whole place lacks atmosphere. Its interesting to see how the mill works and to visit the glass shop, but beyond that its all a... More

The only complete victorian water-turbine powered mill in the country it is fascinating to walk around. Pop into the Mill shop and purchase some floor or biscuits or browse the gift shop, well worth a visit.
