Tired of the cold, grey, wet Victoria days, my friend and I decided to grab our cameras and enjoy an hour or two in the warm, tropical heat of Butterfly World. It's a lovely tropical paradise, filled with colourful butterflies, birds and extremely friendly parrots that suddenly land on your shoulder and want to cuddle! It's not a big exhibit,... More

Hello purevanillaVictoria Thank you for the kind review. I wanted to address a few points in your review so that everyone can have a camera friendly experience. In the gardens and on our map there is "Camera Warmer" highlighted. In the winter especially, cameras have a habit of fogging up so please make sure to use the camera warmer prior... More

I've been working in Victoria for 2 months and I'm so glad I visited the butterfly gardens early on. I bought an annual pass the first day so that I could return to visit Little E, their Eclectus parrot again! He's the friendliest bird I've ever met, following me all over the gardens twice now, sitting on my shoulder, and... More

My husband and I visited the butterfly garden with out one year old daughter and we had a great time! She was in a backpack and the butterflies kept landing on it right in front of her. There are also exotic birds, flamingos, turtles and koi fish. I would highly recommend it but wear removable layers. To keep the butterflies... More

We very much enjoyed our visit here, but it is very small and didn't take long to go through. It is worthwhile to see, but they are charging probably double what I'd consider fair for what you get.

Hello Barbara M Thank you for your review. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit to the Gardens, but, I am sorry to hear that you felt we are overpriced. As we have stated in other instances, our cost structure to care for all the animals, butterflies, fish and to keep the gardens at a consistent year... More

My daughter loves butterflies so this was a must see on our trip. My husband and I had been here before years ago but I don't remember it being this interesting. We had a Groupon for the adult admissions so we ended up saving $15 so I thought this was a great deal and worth the price. I even had... More

Who would guess - this place is really fun and interesting. I found the butterflies unusual, interesting, colourful and it was just fun. There were also some birds and the floral displays are lovely. While I expected to take 20 minutes it was more like 75 minutes so well worth visiting and it is a great site for the Victoria... More

I took a group of adults with disabilities there in January. Very accessible! No problem to park the bus, get inside, and move through the attraction. There are no steps and the paths are wide, so wheelchairs and walkers have an easy time. The butterflies were a bit thin, but perhaps this can be expected at this time of year.... More

My 6 and 14 year old boys are still talking about it. The kinaesthetic experience helped them learn about butterflies and moths in a way that a video, books ... could not. The flamingos added ambience. The drops of humidity resembled the rainforest.

We could have stayed in the gardens for much longer than we did but we had to be elsewhere. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves nature, heat and humidity. We chatted with one of the bonanists and he was personable and well-informed. Little E visited us and sat on our arms several times, even gave us a cheek-rub.... More

We try to visit the Butterfly Gardens when it is a really miserable, wet, sleeting day. Your mood lifts considerably as you walk through the door to the warm, bright, humid atmosphere full of wild coloured foliage, the sound of water trickling down a little creek, the flamingos and of course the little riots of colour flitting about. We spend... More
