Wonderful with small children

We went with our one year old daughter and she had a blast. I will defniately be buying the annual pass as it is less expensive then 2 visits!

We spent an hour and a half in here on our way to the ferry terminal and it's not all that large inside! I don't know how anyone can complain about this place, there's so much to see! Other than the thousands of butterflies around, there's tortoises, parrots, finches, flamingos, ducks, koi, iguanas, frogs. I say it's a must do.... More

Welcome to fantasy land where the butterflies are like little colourful fairies flittering about you as you stroll through a dream domain. Other winged creatures also inhabit this world of make belief. Children are fascinated as are adults who surrender to the magic. The visit is well worth the trip and admission - free parking. The Saanich Peninsula has lots... More

A lovely little butterfly garden. Walk carefully as the butterflies are flying freely. Very cute and kid friendly. If you're lucky, one of the beautiful resident birds may find your shoulder a comfortable spot to rest.

Lovely selection of butterflies and birds in this tropical paradise. However, if you are frightened of parrots (as is my wife) be careful as there is one that flies free and is won't to land of the heads of unsuspecting visitors

A little bit of paradise on Victoria Island. Fun stop for kids and adults. Thousands of butterflies, some fabulous birds (including Flamingo's) and a lesson in Eco-systems. This was a fun stop. Close to Butchart Gardens and takes about an hour to go through. Free parking outside - reasonable cost to get in. Nice gift shop too.

These gardens are incredibly beautiful and the animals are super cute! If you know anything about plants, looking at the living jungle is utterly fascinating. And it is great to see the whole life cycle of many of the butterflies and moths. Be ready to sweat with the butterflies!

This is a small scale exhibit that tries hard to be worth the expense. We were disappointed as to the number and species of butterflies. The exhibit is set up like a rainforest environment. There's turtles, flamingos, ducks, parrots and water features. For kids, I think, it would be enjoyable but for those of us who have been to butterfly... More

Having been here once before, we decided to take our 2 year old grandson to ''see the butterflies''. He was fascinated with them, the way they flew, their colors, and how they would settle on us. Admittedly, he was a little nervous about the parrot that landed on him, but he quickly got over it and enjoyed the experience. There... More
