The gardens are beautiful & informative. They are owned by Christine Ferrari who is a great host. Over mint tea she explains the whole saffron process & since the saffon plants are only interesting to see for a very short period she has developed a herb & fruit garden which she escorts you around & explains everything. The views of... More

Beautiful gardens and such an intersting story. It is a must to stop on the way to or back from the mountains, or just for an excursion out of busy Marrakesh. All you wanted to know about saffron is there. And so many other varieties of plants, trees, etc.. The plus: a barefoot walk on various types of grounds with... More

There is not much to add to my title but let me tell you this. If you plan a trip to Marrakesh I would recommend a half day-/ day-trip to the Atlas mountains including a stop at a wonderful place called "Le Paradis du Safran" owned by a very warm-hearted swiss woman called Christine Ferrari. This place is an oasis... More

A saffron park which is a real gem. The Swiss owner Christine gave us guided tour and explained the details of the cultivation and harvesting of the saffron. The views from the site are spectacular and the owner even has a guest room on site. She has landscaped part of the site with an array of different fruit trees and... More

Even though the season had just ended the owner was able to demostrate how the saffron is harvested and took us round the rest of the gardens collecting samples of the herbs and fruit as we went. The refreshing saffron tea was beautiful. A lovely place to visit.

My wife and I took a visit to Le Paradis du Safran last week which is set in the lush and fertile land near the town of Ourika. There are a couple of these Saffron places in the Ourika area but this one is a few kilometres before Ourika on the road from Marrakech and easily indicated by the big... More
