We did a 6 hour trip with Big Bear on Sep 4. It was a 25th anniversary gift for my husband who loves fishing and I was keeping my fingers and toes crossed that he would not be disappointed, since Gord (our guide) warned us that it had been kinda slow that morning. We couldn't have asked for a nicer... More

I took my parents out for a day of fishing for my dad's 65th birthday and had a fantastic time. Gord was our guide, and he was extremely knowledgeable and friendly (we're definitely beginners and he was also really patient). He had a real passion for fishing and was energetic and enthusiastic. The boat was immaculate and they have top... More

Ucluelet may be hard to pronounce but spending quality time in this coastal village is easy. And if fishing is in your plan, I strongly suggest you consider Big Bear Charters. Darren runs this first class outfit and is an outstanding guide. I picked this particular charter business in part because of their excellent reputation for customer service and man... More

Poor results on fishing. Our first fish was caught on an anchovy and then the guide changed gear and low quantity and quality from there. They seemed hesitant to use bait. Will not be using this group again.

Four of us again went t to Ucluelet to try our hand at salmon fishing, this year not as fruitful as last with regards to take home, but with the new more comfortable boat (Weldcraft) we had a great time, Brought in over 10 fish and enjoyed seeing a grey whale as well. Thanks Darren for another great time.

Well it started by talking with the sweet and acomidating Cat always smiling and very helpfull .As soon as I walked down the dock and saw that boat I knew this was the place .Then I met Darren he just oozed confidence I knew this was the real deal .For me I love fishing but I also like the entire... I have been on some other charters before. Darren with Big Bear Salmon Charters was far the best I have fished with on the west coast of North America. Its like he knows where the fish are. Just by watching him and his techniques makes you know your in good hands. Had the best time of my life with Big... More

My sons and I went out for 4hr fish with Brent. First time salmon fishing for my two boys and my first time out on a charter. Brent put us in the fish right away with both the boys landing a nice Chinook each. Unfortunately my youngest got a little sea sick, Brent was great with him and ran him... More

This our first salmon fishing charter from Ucluelet. We had four adults and 7 y/o grandson chartered for 4 hrs to minimize the risk of boredom with an "all-day" fishing chart. We left the Big Bear dock with Darren at 7 AM and returned about 4 1/2 hours later after a very productive day in the more sheltered waters of... More

This was my second time and my boyfriends third time on this trip. Just keeps getting better. The boat was amazing and Darren our guide was so fantastic. He knew where to take us and get some fish. We maxed out just like the other times we went. Highly recommend this trip to anyone.
