Was nice to take the kids literally on a bear hunt rather then just reading the book of the same name. Especially as we were safe in a boat. Brian was always happy to answer any questions about a range of topics and the boat Dixie IV was heated, which was a definite bonus given the episodic rain and breeze.... More

Superb morning with Brian. Without doubt the best guided nature tour we have had. We were booked for four hours but we left early and saw bald eagles, kingfisher, blue heron before the trip really started at 9am. Off to watch a black bear on the shore then out to follow a school of killer whales. On to see sealions,... More

Brian was our tour guide on a 4 hour excursion that allowed us to experience the ocean as well as a variety of wildlife. That included a host of bald eagles, sea lions, sea otters, and seals. We did not go in a season that was whale-friendly (sadly). We did not blame the whales or Brian.... The vessel is a... More

Wendy was a good captain, informative and fun. We saw 4 whales, no bears, and a few Eagles. They give you big warm suits to wear. The zodiac was a blast to ride!

Spent a lovely afternoon on a four hour tour with Captain Brian. Knowledgable and friendly. We saw whales, bald eagles, an otter, and even baby deer. Kathleen also booked zip line for us with another company. Very helpful. Highly recommended.

We choose the Zodiac tour following advice on here and weren't disappointed. What a fabulous time we had. We actually stayed out longer than the 3 hours as we saw so much. Our skipper was fantastic (Brendon or Brandon I have a poor memory for names!) and had an amazing knowledge of the local wildlife and area. We saw bears,... More

It was worth starting our 'Bears and Birds' trip at a very misty 6am - we saw 5 bears (including a mother with 3 small cubs), harbor seals, loads and loads of bald eagles plus a fantastic bonus - sea otters!! Brian was an excellent guide aboard the Dixie IV and we had a truly memorable trip. Thank you Subtidal... More

Great trip with Brian on Dixie IV cruiser. We weren't lucky enough to see bears this trip, but took in lots of islands and skerries, and got a good sense of the place. Lots of bald eagles seen. You could be battered around on their fast rib, but Dixie IV is a more leisurely experience. Use sunblock - a lot... More

My wife, baby, and I enjoyed our trip through the Broken Group Islands through Subtidal Adventures. The Broken Group Islands were amazingly peaceful when you entered into the heart of them. Wherever the islands had a sandy beach, the water had beautiful green tint. We saw harbor seals, jellyfish, and very friendly humming birds on our trip. We also saw... More

We planned our Vancouver Island visit around bears, birds and whales, with valuable help from Brian at Subtidal Adventures. We could never have guessed we would end up following for 45 minutes a male black bear slowly ambling along below the high tide mark, turning over boulder after boulder, and feasting nonchalantly while we absorbed the wonderful sight. Then suddenly... More
