My wife, baby, and I enjoyed our trip through the Broken Group Islands through Subtidal Adventures. The Broken Group Islands were amazingly peaceful when you entered into the heart of them. Wherever the islands had a sandy beach, the water had beautiful green tint. We saw harbor seals, jellyfish, and very friendly humming birds on our trip. We also saw... More

We planned our Vancouver Island visit around bears, birds and whales, with valuable help from Brian at Subtidal Adventures. We could never have guessed we would end up following for 45 minutes a male black bear slowly ambling along below the high tide mark, turning over boulder after boulder, and feasting nonchalantly while we absorbed the wonderful sight. Then suddenly... More

We had few expectations going out that we would see any whales because there hadn't been any sightings recently. We didn't mind because we just love to be on the water exploring. Captain Brian was amazing. We exited the harbor and almost immediately we came upon a mother gray whale and her calf. We actually ended up seeing another mother... More

Thank you. It was exciting for me too. I have never in almost 40 years seen a sea lion eating an octopus nor a baby sea otter. You didn't mention the fact we did not see a whale that day. It definitely was a great trip anyway. A whale would have been "icing on the cake". More

The journey we took on the Dixie IV with Brian, was the most amazing thing my boyfriend and I ever experienced. We got to see a mother gray whale with her calf, 2 black bears, bald eagles (among other eagles/birds), seal lions and harbour seals. Brian was very knowledgable and make the whole ride nothing but awesome! I have and... More

My cousin, teenage son and I had a great time on the Dixie IV. Captain Brian was awesome with his knowledge of the area and wildlife. We saw many whales and one even breaching! We were amazed at the amount of bald eagles on the trees and saw a Herring Spawn close up. Our trip was fantastic and this was... More

Our whale tour adventure was guided by Captain Brian, who is very knowledgeable and eager to share his whale tour adventures with all. Aboard the Dixie IV we cruised out of the Ucluelet inlet siteing Habor Seals, Sea Lions, Cormorants and Eagles along the way. Brian taught us how to look for the whale's spout and watch for their tails... More

Captain Brian was a pleasure. We took our family on the Dixie IV boat, since our kids are under six...we thought it would be better than the zodiac. Great weather, fantastic experience...we would highly recommend this whale watching trip!!
