The Wild Pacific Trail is located in Ucluelet and is a seven phase trail system skirting the rugged cliffs and shoreline of the west coast of Vancouver Island. The best time to see the west coast is during storm season, in my opinion. The swells are bigger, the tides more dramatic and the sounds of crashing waves the most exciting. We did the Lighthouse loop three times. You get different views from different areas and you also get to walk through the rainforest areas too. The sign says... More

What could be better than walking along the edge of the Pacific Ocean through a rainforest. Great trails for the entire family. The lookout points offer spectacular views of the rugged west coast and Pacific Ocean. We have visited the trails on two trips to Ucluelet and plan to visit again.

The trail has lots of terrific viewpoints that bring you up close to the coastal scenery. It is amazing how the trail builders incorporated interesting pieces of driftwood into the trail. A stunning trail across the edge of the Pacific Ocean. Trail is well maintained and is appropriate for trail strollers (some stairs on the north portion of the trail). Amazing views.

An amazing trail out onto the peninsula past the Lighthouse; with so many breathtaking views/vistas over the rocks and across to the outlying rocky outcrops in the ocean.
