This place has been designed with children in mind as most of the displays are accessible for kids and touch tanks help with the WOW!. I can't get over how approachable, friendly and informative the staff are at this aquarium. They really did make our visit exceptional.

A much needed new building the old one was getting a little crowded. A great place to see what lies beneath the sea the custodians are extremely informative. The octopus is a must to see in his new digs !!

The staff were very informative and friendly, being sure to advice us and people around of some of the things the fish were doing. The feeding was fun to watch, they answered all of my six year olds questions and made him laugh. It also has some hands on learning, which is great for kids!

We had opportunity to see this before and after a major upgrade. Learning that ALL OF THEIR ANIMALS are released at the end of each season and then in Spring replenished with completely new animals.., WOW!!! This is the most original aquarium you will ever visit, quite, clean, well spirited and in a perfect balance with environment. The place you... More

Fun place to visit. Great for kids! You can touch the sea life and the best part is they catch the fish in the spring and release the fish back into the wild in the fall.

The aquarium is worth a visit when you're in the area; it's a great way to learn about all the sea life around around the island. It's a catch and release aquarium, so everything is caught nearby and released at the end of the season. There were all lots of baby starfish when we there, an octopus, decorator crabs, and... More

Our pleasant experience started the minute we walked in. We paid our entrance fees, and the young man explained that at the end of the season, the specimens are released back into the ocean. There is a very large tank with rock fish, rat fish (I found these fascinating) and others. Watching them and seeing their colours and patterns was... More

We'd been meaning to visit the Ucluelet Aquarium for some time. This week we made the time, and were not disappointed. Yes, it's a little pricey at $28CAD for two adults, but this is a local, not-for-profit, sustainable, catch-and-release endeavour, and thus we felt the entry fee was reasonable. Although small, the displays and wealth of information (attached to many... More

Lots of local ocean life, hand on activities for both adults and children. The animals are returned to the sea. Helpful and informative staff.
