Small but interesting

Small but interesting as all the exhibits are locally caught and released each year, touching is allowed is certain areas. Favourite was the octopus.

"This is the best aquarium ever!" That's a quote from two kids visiting the aquarium when we were there. And we (two middle aged adults) agree entirely. It's a small catch and release facility with friendly, knowledgable and enthusiastic staff. Go; enjoy the catch of the season (we saw a wolf eel, giant octopus and decorator crabs just to name... The animals were amazing and the staff were very helpful and enthusiastic! Lots of touch and hold tanks to feel what the organisms are like. The octopus put on an amazing display.

Even though it is small this unique aquarium offers an intimate look at the different species found in and around the waters in Ucluelet. The staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. Love the idea that all the wildlife goes back into its natural habitat eventually. This aquarium adds a nice dimension to downtown.

Great info from staff, lots to both see and do. Touching stuff in the tanks was unique! Price was very affordable. A novel approach to learning about local sea life. Easy to find, great parking nearby!

The admission price seems exorbitant when you step in and see the tiny space the aquarium occupies. But, truthfully, if you keep your eyes open and look hard at all of the tiny creatures, the aquarium is kind of cool. Seeing the local critters and their bright colors in their semi-natural habitat was enlightening. This spot is worth a 1... More

If you want whales, sharks and seals ... you'll be disappointed. However, this is the only aquarium that returns its contents back to the local Pacific, where they came from. So you have a huge variety of sea anemones, star fish, crabs, fish, jelly fish, clams ... large and very tiny. And there are tanks where you can "gently touch... More

Great facility run by people who really care about the environment. Good for families as very educational, and kids can get really close to and handle the sealife.
