I spent an afternoon in the Aquarium and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff is hugely knowledgeable and enthusiastic and as a truly sustainable aquarium, a visit there is part of the west coast experience.

We were unsure to visit the Ucluelet Aquarium at first, but had a wonderful time. Our son was so excited and we were happy to have stopped there. It is not a very big place, but they had a good number of tanks filled with local marine life. There were several touch tanks where we could touch starfish, sea cucumber... More

I commend the university for housing such a great venue for many to learn. I am not one to support captivity of any creature, however, now knowing that the marine creatures are captured my kind means in the late spring and released in the fall when the students return to school, is definitely something I can support. The students are... More

Great atmosphere and a very big fish tank. Really cool Octopus which is the centerpiece for the aquarium. Signed the ships log they had there and played around in all the tanks.

GREAT staff, cute building and lots of native sea life to look at and feel in the touch tanks. Lots of seals & sea lions to see right outside the aquarium.

This is a fun way to spend time especially if you have younger people as they have touch tanks and the staff is always super informative.

While waiting for the shops to open I decided to visit the Ucluelet Aquarium and I am glad I did. They have a great display of local sea life and many of the displays are hands on. I got a chance to see a real octopus (Sally) and see her eat a crab. I may never look at seafood the... More

This is a small but special acquarium. It features both hands-on and visual exhibits. There are a number of docents/guides who are marine biology (or similar) practitioners and students and who show visitors how to interact with the hands-on sealife, and also give special fascinating (but maybe not for everyone) demonstrations (e.g., showing how an octopus catches and eats a...
