this is a great aquarium where you can actually go into and put your hands in the tank and touch the creatures inside

The aquarium is great. They catch the exhibits each year and release them again at the end of the season. They constantly change/add more and its more of a conservation attraction than simply and aquarium. Don't go expecting to see the large mamals. That's what the day trips are for. You will however see all the other little creatures you... More

This is a "home town" little aquarium, but the fact that they release all of the creatures every autumn is what drew me to support them with a visit. The Pacific Octopus was the star of the show!

A great place to chill for an hour. The displays are interesting and informative, giving hands on opportunities with lots of local sea creatures. The volunteers were patient, kind and spent a long time answering questions from our children, so they really enjoyed the visit. There is a relax corner which was great for a look out to sea to... This is not a huge aquarium with whale shows it is however a good place to take the kids young and old to have a look at what lives beneath the local waters, they have touch pools and the marine creatures are only kept for a short period of time then release back into the wild.

Even if you think you've seen it all at some 'major' aquariums around the world, do not skip this one. The Ucluelet Aquarium is remarkable in that all of the life on display has been collected locally. Amazing biodiversity! So many different species of fish and marine animals. Just stunning. Many open tanks where gentle hands can touch sea stars,... More

Ucluelet Aquarium is seriously underrated! It's rather small but better than any aquarium I have ever been to. They have some amazing fish, but the best part of this aquarium was the anemones. They were absolutely awesome, and there were also touch tanks which were brilliant. You get to touch the anemones and see what they feel like and how... More

The aquarium is a delightful place to spend a couple of hours interacting with the animals. The staff was very friendly and informative. Watching an octopus eat lunch was a highlight. Totally recommend seeing this on any trip to Ucluelt.

What makes this aquarium very enjoyable for kids is the number of tanks where they can touch the sea critters. When you walk in, you wash your hands and enjoy. The aquarium is quite small, and I didn't think our kids would be there for long, but we stayed for almost 2 hours - which included a viewing of the... More

Toon the kids here. Was an amazing good time waster. With the pools that the kids can touch stuff in, and the giant Octopus, it is amazing to see all the things that locally appear here. Just kissing the seal exhibit. Had a great time with our guide who appeared and the disappeared just as fast. On to the next... More
