like in another comment at first we did also think it a bit pricey, but that is not the case! !!! It was the best wildlife trip , we ever took!!! Toddy and Alan welcomed us as guest in their home ( the boat) and it was such an informative and smooth trip, we saw Ollie the Seeotter, we saw... more

I've been on several dozen whale watch trips and enjoyed all of them, but this five hour+ trip with Al and Toddy on their beautiful boat has got to be the best I could have imagined. They live on the boat and graciously welcome you to their home and share many years of experience on the local waters with their... more

We stayed at the Black Rock Resort (also excellent), in Ucluelet and the concierge recommended this trip. We were in Canada to look at whales and bears specifically and had been disappointed by some of the shorter trips in Victoria and Tofino. Ok for something to do but they were not long enough to get a real good look at... more

The best part of our early September 2009 trip to Vancouver Island was the five-hour wildlife-nature boat tour of Barkley Sound and the Broken Group Islands--the labor of love of Alan and Toddy Landry. Their boat leaves from Ucluelet. As we cruised through the gorgeous island-dotted seascape, we saw a bear pushing over boulders on a beach as though they... more

Seeing the wildlife on a 53ft cruiser , instead of an inflatable ! no contest ! Choose the cruiser, very South Of France ! The boat is to the very highest specs, the owners / operators very knoledgeable / humerous / welcoming / everything. They stay out longer than any, and even extended that time. They provide a great lunch... more

We have done many wildlife boat trips around Canada and USA and this is the best. The quality of the boat, the knowledgeable and hospitable owners, the abundant wildlife and lunch whilst anchored in the Broken Group Islands made this a memorable trip. more

This is a tour with great value. I've been going to Tofino/Uccy since the road across the Island was a gravel logger road, and have always enjoyed the whale tours. This year we went from Ucluelet through Toddy and Al's 5 hour boat tour and I was impressed. Most comfortable boat I've been on, and the broken island group is... more

Al and Toddie have a beautiful boat with a real toilet, VERY comfortable seating and they share it with you and a few others for 5 + hours visiting The Broken Group Islands. They are a fun, charming knowledgeable couple who serve you a gourmet lunch and wine, if you wish, along with scads of Stellar and CA sea lions,... more

This was the best boat tour we've ever done. A beautiful boat, wonderful knowledgeable hosts, great food and an abundance of wildlife. We signed up for September already to show this to our next visitors. And as to the price - this is a five hour tour. Compare the price to the 2 hour tours most other whale/bear watchers offer.... more

Our family has been vacationing in Canada for a week. We have had many wonderful adventures from zip trekking in Whistler to canoeing down rivers and driving ATVs to mountain tops. One adventure, however, was by far the family favorite. It was the 5 1/2 glorious hours aboard the Archipelago yacht. I must admit we had debated whether to spend... more
