Archipelago Cruises have been on my radar since many years ago when I listened with excitement to an enthusiastic recounting of friend’s sunset journey with Toddy and Alan. At the time, we were exploring the Broken Group Islands off Ucluelet, and as a result of four wonderful days kayaking in that beautiful area, I was determined to get in there... More

We were recommended this trip by friends from UK, who did it the year before, and we have no regrets at all. A stunning trip out of the Broken Islands, helped by the sun coming out! We turned up at the dock to enquire about possibilities at 8.45, and yes we could go that day or the next day, the... More

The Raincoast Maiden is a beautiful boat. The tour through the Broken Group Islands is wonderful and the pace allows you to take in the scenery and chat with the hosts. I also find that I don't get as seasick while on this style of boat. I would recommend this tour operator to friends and family.

After reading the reviews here, we booked this for our first day in Ucluelet, and it was the highlight of our entire vacation on Vancouver Island. It may seem expensive, but it is worth every penny and really a good value compared to what you get on the other tours. We enjoyed it so much that we can't wait to... More

... going in October might be late to see all the beautiful sea animals one wishes to see - nevertheless we saw two grey whales, several sea lions, some bald eagles and several other birds. We joined Al and Toddy on their boat and were not disappointed, the weather was simply excellent and only later in the afternoon it started... More

We booked this trip months in advance from the UK and were so glad we did. Absolutely everything was wonderful. Al and Toddy were so pleasant and helpful and the lunch was delicious. We spent the whole day on the outside deck as we cruised the Broken Islands on the Raincoast Maiden marvelling at the wildlife and scenery. This is... More

We lucked out with a beautiful September day with Alan and Toddy and their diverse guests on this 5 hour cruise. Alas, we only saw the tail of one whale, but we saw sea lions and seals on the small islands of rocks and bald eagles in the trees. We also saw a mama bear and two cubs. Toddy and... More

We booked our trip well in advance of our Sept 2013 trip and would advise anyone to do this to avoid disapointment as this is a real gem! Al & Toddy were perfect informative hosts and the Rainbow Maiden the best veiwing platform I could imagine. Book the Gormet lunch (all did on our trip), we had perfect weather and... More

This was a wonderful 5 hour trip, around the Broken Islands, and the inlet near Ucluelet. The husband/wife team are very knowledgeable of the whole area, including the local history of the early Japanese settlers, the local First Nations, birds, & sea life. During our trip we had a sudden, very rare thunder/lightening storm...this caused the sea lions to get... More
