This is a great way to see the islands and wildlife on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. The boat is very well appointed and comfortable and the hosts, Al and Toddy, are super friendly. The commentary is very informative and you will learn a lot. It is good value for money and I would highly recommend it.

This was our second trip with Al and Toddy. A great day out and we saw plenty of wildlife even though it poured with rain for most of the day. You can sit in the lounge area and drink coffee and go outside when there is a sighting. Alternatively you can do as we did and stand on the top... More

Well, getting such great reviews from practically everyone raises expectations. Our trip on the Rain Coast Maiden exceeded ours easily though. Toddy and Al run a really tight ship which is both reassuring and often amusing with lots of banter between them borne out of what is obviously a long and successful relationship. The boat itself is absolutely immaculate and... More

Toddy and Al are clearly very passionate and very experienced in both wildlife and the Ucluelet culture and surroundings. We were a couple with a 9 year old. They provided a great well balanced commentary about much of what we were seeing. We saw bears, a sea otter, seals, sea lions, and many different birds including many bald eagles. Because... More

We took the 5h Trip and really had a blast! Fun and proffessional guides, great lunch(we recommend it - tasty and nice presented). They did warn us in advance that there is just a small chance of seeing whales but we decided to take the trip anyway. For Al and Toddy its all about the enjoyment of the trip and... More

While we saw no bears or whales, we saw numerous bald eagles, sea lions, seals, otters and other fauna. We "splurged" for this tour and are very happy we did. We enjoyed the ride and the commentary by the operators. The lunch in a secluded cove was sublime. Recommended.

We were on a 2.5 week tour of the Pacific NW and this was our highlight! We didn't see any whales, but Toddy had emailed and warned of that in advance and we had the option to cancel, but we're so glad we still went. We saw plenty of eagles, seals, sea lions, as well as a few sea otters.... More

This boat tour is the best from Ucluelet. Worth every penny, especially the boat comfort, wildlife sightings, gourmet lunch from Norwood's, and the knowledgeable and friendly husband and wife tour guides. I highly recommend booking this one for your visit to the Peninsula.
