The best place for a boy and his dog

So many great spots to stop and enjoy true nature only a 20 minute drive from Vancouver. Well marked trail, watch out for mountain bikes.

FANTASTIC! It's an intermediate hike as it was suggested. The nature all around this hike was amazing. Make sure you do climb up to Quarry Rock, also known as Grey Rock. Pack a light lunch and enjoy/embrace the view from this stunning site! You will be able to clearly see beautiful Deep Cove and Indian Arms. Also, way back in... More

Loved the Baden-Powell trail. We went the 12K from Deep Cove to Lynn Canyon. It was a huge challenge but so beautiful

This shorter trail (the end bit from deep cove to Quarry Rock) is one of my faves. It can be tricky finding the trail head (let alone parking!). Once you begin it's a steep and technical start. There are lots of ups and downs throughout but it's a well marked trail and plenty of opportunity to stop and catch your... More

Great hike. Quite a manageable hike for most. Some definite steep and raggedy portions but very easy for someone in decent walking order. Lots of people on it. Including morons who pack wireless speakers up and blast their crappy pop music for everyone to hear. Way to get into nature and enjoy it. Idiots. I wanted to smash their heads... More

This is the hike that starts in Deep Cove and ends in Horseshoe Bay. You cannot do the whole hike. It is best to pick a piece of it. If you only have an hour or two then hike the Deep Cove end of it ending at Quarry Rock. This is an actual hike. You will need at least running... More

I hiked this trail from Deep Cove to Horseshoe Bay over a couple of days. It's kind of wild that at times you're practically walking down a suburban street next to houses, and other times you're so deep in the woods that if anything bad happened you would be in deep trouble. So, my opinion is that it is a... More

Nice enough. Very crowded. Up and down more than necessary. Not particularly well marked, but otherwise clean and well-maintained.

We liked the trail from Deep Cove up to a rock that looks out over the ocean. It's fairy rugged and up and down though trainers would be fine - took about 45 mins each way. The rocky outcrop is great place to sit relax with wonderful views over the cove. Bring a drink and a snack and stay away... More

50km of some of the toughest terrain on the planet. Home to the famous Kneeknacker trail race, and less famous Vancouver 100 (which is the entire trail, ran twice to form a 100km ultra). Built in 1971 and named after Lord Baden Powell, the trail is identified by the traditional Boy Scout fleur-de-lis symbol. The un-informed hiker will ofter injure... More
