The Fort Nelson Museum is one of the best. Marl Brown has dedicated a large portion of his life to collecting and organizing the history of the Alaska Highway in one small building and lot. It is simply amazing. Hats off to a job well done.

This past spring I spent about 3 hours touring the Ft. Nelson Museum. That is not enough time to fully enjoy all the great exhibits.Lots of great historical items related to the construction of the Alaska highway including Equipment and Vehicles from the period. There is something there for everyone and it is a must see if you are passing... More

The main museum is chock-a-block with all sorts of items that were used fifty to one hundred years ago. We were there during the Heritage Days festival in February. Taxidermied animals, weapons, crockery and cutlery, hand crank wringer washing machines, furniture, clothing, snow shoes, jewellery, churns, tea sets, lots of photos..... I seemed like every inch of wall space and... More

Stop here - you wont regret it! Its full of interesting, quirky, unusual, unexpected "stuff". Its difficult to explain as there is so much there to see and it doesnt really fit into any particular theme, but its well worth the visit. Do go into the Hudson House and the loggers cabin (warmest place to be on a cold day!)... More
