We really enjoyed ourselves, the owner explained that people usually drive by and take a photo, but the route we took although shortened for 2 hours we had a great experience with scenery and friendly knowledgable guide. Meant to write this review sooner, DO IT! Lunenberg shopping/scenery is great but being IN it was even better!

My wife and I were fortunate to have a guided tour from Karl's father one late fall afternoon as the tide went out. The launch site is easy to manage. The kayaks are excellent. The paddle offers a wide variety of scenery, islands to circumnavigate, historic shore homes and structures to see, and utter tranquility. Close to Lunenburg, yet far... More

Another excellent tour - this time with Tassie Dave as our guide - with Karl's "Pleasant Paddling" operation. These guys have first rate sea kayaks and equipment, and are extremely competent and knowledgable about the beautiful Blue Rocks area of Nova Scotia. Karl is extremely safety conscious - as you would expect him to be- and we had spray skirts,... More

...and that's saying a lot since I loved Lunenburg, too. Our guide Rob did an excellent job of orienting us to the kayaks, making us ready for ocean swells, and ducking in and out of the Blue Rocks, telling stories the whole way. We even saw some seals swimming nearby.

We went out on a morning paddle with Karl whilst on holiday from the UK. Being a complete novice I didn't know what to expect, but Karl was personable, informative and professional. We learned a lot about the local environment, wildlife and the sea and he was clearly passionate and enthusiastic about them all. Blue Rocks has to be one... More

My husband, teenage daughter and I did an overnight kayak trip with Karl at the end of August 2015. Our experience was great starting from our initial inquiry. Karl made an effort to make sure he understood what type of experiene we were looking for, what equipment we would have with us (since we were traveling from Western Canada), what... More

We booked a 2 hour sunset kayak with Pleasant Paddling. Our guide was David. The route was beautiful and the colour changes also stunning. It was also very peaceful at that time of the evening. The trip was well organised and the company very professional. They offer a variety of guided trips. If we had been in Lunenburg for loner,... More

Pleasant Paddling has a decent rental fleet and operates from an excellent location to explore the beautiful Blue Rocks area. However, they have introduced an absurd policy change (sometime in the past year) where they do not provide spray skirts to those renting boats, citing liability reasons. If they are not going to provide spray skirts with their rentals, they... More

My husband and I went out on a group tour with Rob for a 4 hour tour this am. We both have done lake kayaking, but never sea kayaking. I was a bit apprehensive, but Rob made me feel very much at ease, and it turned out to be a blast, especially when we were in the swells out in... More

Great trip with Matt as our guide. He was informative and terrific instructor. He made me less anxious as it was our first time in a sea kayak. The tour is very picturesque. The full price for four people was $400 with tip for a 4 hour excursion.
