Ironworks Distillery opened its doors to the public in June 2010. Situated in the old town of Lunenburg and residing in the building that used to be the old marine blacksmith shop, we create small batches of artisan spirits using produce from the Maritimes. We make vodka and brandy using Annapolis Valley apples, Pear Eaude vie and several delicious fruit liqueurs. Tastings are free.

Make it a point to stop here the next time you are in town. They have the best spirit around....lol....their rum would make any pirate weep with joy. My son always ask for this as a treat when we go. I love the little shop they are in.

While this was not a precipitated stop, the building seemed so interesting that we popped in. The people working there seemed to really know their craft and be very excited to tell passersby. Love the gentrification of the building. One can see just how much those of the distillery also appreciate its neighbours and history.

We tried a few of their drinks. Tried two different rums and also an aged brandy. We purchased a dark rum as well as a brandy.

This is a "must visit" on your trip to Lunenberg, Nova Scotia. Ironworks is a small unique distillery which produces some wonderful liqueurs, vodkas, and rums. We did not have time to do the tour but did participate in the "tastings" and purchased some absolutely delicious rums and vodkas. The personnel were very helpful, accommodating, and knowledgeable about the Ironworks... More

We didn't have time for the tour, but enjoyed the tasting. We bought a bottle of the Bluenose Rum, which was fantastic!

We were happily given a free mini tour of the distillery including samples of this micro brewery. It is walkable to other town tours and a great plus to visiting Lunenburg, NS.

Just a block from the water in the lovely village of Lunenburg sits the Ironworks Distillery. This clean operation with its unique wood fired still is definitely worth visiting. We did a tasting of many of the products made on the premises and found them to be extremely good. We made numerous purchases and discovered when we returned home that... More
