Ironworks Distillery opened its doors to the public in June 2010. Situated in the old town of Lunenburg and residing in the building that used to be the old marine blacksmith shop, we create small batches of artisan spirits using produce from the Maritimes. We make vodka and brandy using Annapolis Valley apples, Pear Eaude vie and several delicious fruit liqueurs. Tastings are free.

I always enjoy a stop in at Ironworks, the staff is very friendly & the liquor is always very good. Their vodka & their Bluenose Rum are favourites of mine, and my friends. The "vibe" of the distillery is excellent, staying true to the history of the building (an old blacksmith's shop.) I highly recommend a visit, and a sample..... More

My husband and I visited the Ironworks Distillery and took the tour. The guide, Monica, was great. She was very knowledgeable about the history of the building, and all the wonderful products. It is all made on site and most of the raw ingredients are locally sourced. It was our first visit and we are already planning another next year.... More

This is a fun place to visit very rustic and charming. The products are great my daughter and her husband tried the samples and bought a few little bottles to take back to the UK with them. The staff are very nice and helpful.

We visited Ironworks Distillery and were impressed with not only the products, but also with the knowledgeable and friendly staff. There is a tasting bar which offers a chance to sample what you fancy before you commit to buying. They have a number of award winning products which are distilled using only natural ingredients, which they try keeping as fresh... More

I really enjoyed coming here. The original remnants of blacksmithing are in display in a redone room where you see modern distillery works. We tasted of few of the samples and were impressed. Bought a bottle of rum to take home with us. The girls behind the counter were very friendly.

This little distillery is a must when in Lunenburg. They offer a couple of free samples of their liquors which is a great treat! The building is great to check out and so is their tour. The product is made of local ingredients which is well received and they are quite proud of.

We took the daily tour of the Ironworks Distillery. There were about twelve of us in our group which is pretty large because their space is small. We had an adorable tour guide who was so passionate about every part of their process. We were able to see the still, the fermentation room, the barrel room and the storage area.... More

This is a great way to kill ten or fifteen minutes. They distill fantastic liquors from local ingredients, and let you try them in house (they sell themselves). The staff is friendly and helpful. One even entertained my younger children by describing distillation, showing them the still which was at the time being used for a batch of rum, while... More

The distillery is in the original building of the former blacksmith shop. Very little has changed of the original structure - the old photo looks just like the current building. The floor is original and has the marks from the blacksmith. They make award winning spirits and have small sets that can be taken back on the plane.

Worth a visit even if you don't drink! This is a well preserved old blacksmith shop. Their rum is easy on the palate and their cranberry liqueur is the best!
