Ironworks Distillery opened its doors to the public in June 2010. Situated in the old town of Lunenburg and residing in the building that used to be the old marine blacksmith shop, we create small batches of artisan spirits using produce from the Maritimes. We make vodka and brandy using Annapolis Valley apples, Pear Eaude vie and several delicious fruit liqueurs. Tastings are free.

The tastings were free and the tour (which we didn't have time for) is ten dollars. The Saskatoon liqueur was indeed the most unique and tasty. I would have liked to be able to mix and match with the sampler trio. We enjoyed the experience and the hostess was most friendly.

This place caught me off guard, as I enjoy my rums and my select is quite varied but I have not heard of this particular brand. We stopped in and checked the place out. Had some samples and talked about what they are doing. The selections are limited but considering the age of the business, they seem to be doing... More

Need or want a cocktail or a spirit before dinner? Lovely series of tastings and a thorough and informative tour by Jacob. At $10 Canadian it is a bargain and you receive a commemorative shot glass!

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Large assortment of distilled products. We a pled the several of the rums. The bluenose rum made with Crosby molasses was a highlight. A very unique experience in lovely Luneburg

The tour was fun, Colette was a friendly guide and was great at explaining all the details of the different spirits to try. I'm not usually a big fan of hard alcohol, but I loved almost every one here! Stop in for free tastings even if you don't go on the tour.

We actually found the Ironworks quite by accident and were so glad we did. A very interesting visit especially being right in town. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to sample as many flavours as we wanted. We purchased some great products. Stop by and have a taste!

Great little tour. Very personalized business right down to the custom still. Wonderful character retained in the original blacksmith's shop - I'm sure somewhere in the open rafters remains the smoke and soot from its former life. Staff are very helpful and knowledgable of the product. The tour is just the right length with all the steps in the distilling/aging/bottling... More

My husband and I stopped into Ironworks during a short visit to Lunenberg. When we arrived the tasting counter was monopolized by a group of grannies who weren't exactly sure what a distillery was... Once they'd cleared out we each sampled a few of their liquors and liqueurs, all of which we enjoyed, and ended up buying a bottle of... More

We had a wonderful and informative tour at this distillery. Lunenburg is a beautiful town, and the distillery is at one end of it. The tour was very informative - he answered all of our questions. We also really liked all the samples! Everything they make is tasty, but we found the rum to be especially unique. We've been enjoying... More

I noticed on the guide map that their was a distillery right around the corner from our B&B and I was excited to visit. I sampled a couple of Rums and decided on the Rum 375 because of its smooth taste and the nice amber color, the dark rum was a little to bitter for me. If you're a rum... More
