The exhibits, all volunteer created and staffed (except for summer students, who are paid) give a good overview of the history of Lunenburg and can be a good place to start your visit. Admission by donation. More

This historical home is a not-to-be-missed Lunenberg attraction. It presents true stories from Lunenberg's founding and history that are fascinating and entertaining to all ages. Our visit to this preserved house was one of the highlights of our week-long stay in the area and gave me food for thought for a long time. It's on a street that runs parallel... More

The Knaut-Rhuland House is one of the earliest existing merchant houses in Lununberg's Old Town and is an excellent scene-setter for any visit. The volunteer guide on duty on the day of our visit went the extra mile in explaining the history of both the buidling and the town. As with all good museums we felt we knew a lot... More

This was a welcome stop for us as we were travelling with our grandchildren and the expenses were piling up, it's rare to find such a great place and not to be asked for admission. The woman in costume took time with the children, answering questions and showing us all around. Impressive collection, and an impressive old home. You come... More

This place can be easily missed but it is well worth seeking out..especially if you came to Lunenburg because it was a UNESCO World Heritage Site, because they will show you why. Much of this old home is in it's original condition, though you will see that it is in need of ongoing restoration, you will be charmed by the... More
