It's docked because it is undergoing repairs, which means you can't even go on the boat. We were told that this boat isn't even really the Bluenose II. The boat has a few pieces of the Bluenose II, but really should be called the Bluenose III since it has so few parts from Bluenose II. Lunenburg is a lovely town,... More

After seeing the "action" film in the Fisheries Museum on the Blue Nose sailing the waters in races, I was a bit disappointed in seeing its replica moored on the dock in front of this Museum. Sure, seeing the Blue Nose II closeup, I could get a better understanding of the length and width of the schooner, but I was... More

We came to Lunenberg to see the beautiful ship Bluenose II. We were disappointed that the ship was closed to the public due to renovations. We took a few photos and listened while a worker spoke about the renovation work. It will be completed and opened to tourists in 2015.

The Bluenose II is rather lovely. We didn't have time to have taken a tour or sail even if it has been open to the public, but it was still cool to see and it makes a great back drop for a photo op!

After reading about the exciting history of the Bluenose, we were looking forward to going aboard its replica, The Bluenose II. So we walked down to the harbor and ... nothing. Not a soul was to be found anywhere near or on the ship, and a sign was taped near the entrance that said "Closed to the Public." It looked... More

This Ship is like no other Sailing vessel in Nova Scotia. The history behind the Blue Nose II is quite impressive and you must make a point of seeing it when it is here. You can book a cruise on it or simply just pay to go aboard and see how it was like to sail on one of these ships.... More

We saw this beautiful sailing vessel docked in the Lunenberg harbor. The crew of the sailing vessel was there to answer any questions that anyone had. They were also cleaning and doing repairs.

We were lucky to see Bluenose 11 during the day and at night when walking along the waterfront. Both times great photos were shot. It is a shame that you can't even get on board for a guided tour but an ongoing restoration project stops this. There is a notice board which gives lots of information and we were lucky... More

It's something to see and we r glad we went but it is showing its lack of interest from the departments that have spent millions on it. Research its history and stop in and see it and see what your opinion is. I was disappointed of its condition and lack of interest from the area and province.

Bluenose II is actually a re-creation of a re-creation of the original. Seen on a nice day in port it is quite beautiful. Unfortunately, it does not pass inspection to carry passengers. There are no scheduled tours until it passes inspection. But it is free and pretty to look at.
