First up you will have to pay to visit this place (not too expensive), the shop at the gate is a good one to check out as well as little munch before you walk to the castle. There are a few ways to go, either walk around one side of the Castle or the other as the entrance is at... More

A great day out to this beautiful castle. Plenty to do for the Grandchildren during the summer holiday. Archery on the green - there is a charge. Free stuff includes dressing up in medieval outfits, storytelling, armourers, and the 'Echo horn'! - this is a great adventure, following clues about who is trying to kill the duke but the horn... Bodiam is a beautiful castle. When you think of classic medieval castle you think of this place. Towers, bridge and moat. Its a ruin but its in good condition. Like many other castles of this type, Bodiam is a shell with the outer walls and towers surviving but the inner buildings have long since disappeared. There is still a lot... More

What a lovely romantic type of castle. Everything you would expect to be in a fairytale. Being a NT members we did not pay for parking or entry but I think it is worth the entry fee. Lovely tea rooms and such a beautiful castle and grounds. Take some food for the ducks! Well worth a visit

A very interesting informative visit, Be aware there are lots of very steep stairs up to the towers, but well worth it for the views. Parking is a short walk away from the castle. Various demonstrations/activities take place in the grounds.

Impressive Bodiam Castle will certainly give you an idea of what it was like living centuries ago. The moated ruins are fantastic to walk through, but just be aware that the steps to the upper tower levels are very steep and winding. Wear good shoes and only climb up the stairs if you are confident to do so. Join the... More

Just how you expect an old castle to look...a ruin with a bit of character. The turrets are challenging as the stairs are very steep ....don't try if you have vertigo... Not suitable for children unless supervised. Saying that it is a fun day out for children as well as adults as there are activities for them to join in... More

Went to visit at the weekend as I hadn't been for a couple of years, as expected the car park charge had increased by £1 up to £3 but what we didn't expect for the charge to go in, no warning prior to entry that there was now a charge, in the past entry to the grounds was free but... More
