Good family day out we really enjoyed the talk about medieval manners from the men in costumes. Worth bringing some bread to feed the fish (very large) and ducks. Use the facilities in the car park as there are none at the castle.

I took my four grandchildren to Bodiam during half term. Their ages range from 4 to 10 years - the Knights Peril kept them engaged as well as encouraged their imaginations to unfold into a tale of intrigue and crime detection. After playing at being medieval sleuths and expelling any excess energy by running around the grounds, we eventually returned... More

We are so pleased that you and your grandchildren enjoyed the Knight's Peril echo horn adventure and had fun being medieval sleuths. It is very popular. We look forward to seeing you all back another day. Best wishes. More

We visited Bodiam during half term - our first return visit for about a decade. It's a great place, for all the reasons other reviewers have documented, although for me, it's not the sort of place you would return to again and again (unlike many other NT properties). It's a beautiful ruin in wonderful countryside; the kids loved climbing up... More

Lovely moated castle that is ruined but has enough rooms and towers to explore to keep the kids busy. Loved the horn - the medieval murder mystery that you listen to round the castle and try to solve. It really brings the 1300s to life. The staff were all fab as well - really helpful. Loved the staff in medieval... More

We visited here with our young family and dogs. Very picturesque castle surrounded by a moat. Dogs welcome in the grounds but not in the castle itself. The children had lots of fun using the horn (which is available from the building near the castle) which is used to trigger an audio murder mystery tour around the castle by holding... More

Had not been for years so thought I would look at this castle again. Only gave it average as I found it lacking in interesting grounds and a bit over priced comparing it too other places I have been. Costing £3 for parking and nearly £8 if you don't gift aid and more if you do. Seen a lot better... More

A beautiful ruin and awesome scenery, very well explained in text and by presenters in historic costume.

We had a lovely day out at Bodiam. The castle is very impressive particularly considering it dates from 1346. The guides are great and interact well with the children giving them information and interesting facts. The view from the top of the castle are stunning. Highly recommended for a lovely day out.

Had such a good time at Bodiam Castle. The ruins are so well preserved and was a joy walking up the towers and looking at the breathtaking views. The actor re-enactments were brilliant too and really made you feel like you were going back in time. Lots of families there having a great time and dogs are allowed around the... More

So beautiful and so old it's as if you've gone back in time. The ability to walk through each room of the castle lends to the experience and helps imagination run free. Whole family enjoyed it.
