We have enjoyed visiting Bodiam castle over the years for a short walk around the grounds and to feed the ducks etc. We have seen the car entrance fee go up from £2 to £3 which seemed a reasonable increase. However, today we found that the entrance fee is £7.20 an adult and £3.60 a child- you now cannot just... More

Listen to the car park attendent, there are only loos at the car park and not at the actual castle, this is a reasonable walk away especially for little ones! The castle is a ruin but the walls are intact which is unusual. There are two towers to climb if so inclined but I am 5'2" and the steps were... More

We enjoyed this castle but it is expensive for what you get. Not much to see but beautiful surroundings and settiing. worth a visit though in nice weather.

This is one of the most beautiful castles I have ever been to. Well, it is more ruins than an actual castle but with the moat surrounding it, just makes it fantastic. I'm sure we saw an otter as well as we came around the outside of it. I thought it was beautiful and totally recommend if you are in... More

Well worth a visit! Ask a child to draw a castle and they will draw Bodiam! It has everything a castle needs including monsters (giant carp) in the moat. You are free to take you dogs round the grounds, which are pretty in themselves, but not able to go inside the castle which seems a bit silly as it's a... More

This was a good day out when combined with the steam railway to Bodiam from Tenterden. Only one off us entered the castle as our dog could only enter the grounds outside of the castle. Not a lot to see inside so they were supplimenting your visit with a lecture on herbal medicine for those that wished to attend.

Castle looks great from the outside, however, once inside, there isn't much to help you understand the place over the years. the room showing the video is way too small for the amount of visitors. Closer toilets would be a bonus, especially for the disabled.

we arrived at bodiam after a pleasant drive through nice villages from eastbourne the stunning castle could be seen from the slight inclined path from the car park on arrival at the entrance to the castle by way of a bridge, large fish were surfacing along with a number of ducks., with a lovely blue sky and a hot summers... We arrived off the Kent & East Sussex Railway, (see separate review for that) the only way to arrive in style to this Castle ! , the carriage windows of which give you the first view of this impressive building as you arrive at Bodiam station. From there it is a 5 minute walk to the Castle entrance, followed by... More

Well worth a visit! The parking attendant was kind enough to point out the cafe, castle and loos as I arrived and where to buy a ticket for the castle. Lovely and welcoming. The castle is a short walk along a gravel track. The visitors centre is small but informative and in any event is where you buy tickets so... More
