I last visited Bodiam Castle several years ago, but this is the first time I've taken my children. There is a short walk from the car park to the castle with a small collection of picnic tables in the car park. If visiting in the height of summer I'd suggest taking a picnic blanket as there weren't many tables. The... More

Took our neighbours 3 yr old here, she enjoyed it as did my husband. I am disabled so they sent the buggy down for us which was very good, except I think 1 buggy is not enough. Also as a criticism, the only toilets are down near the tea rooms, rather too far for me as disabled & the little... More

Another fab National Trust property and our first visit. 6 adults and 7 children (3-10yrs) had a great time. Utterly perfect for families. Sub standard espresso but still five stars.

used to be free to enter the castle outer site , but now we were charged to enter, a bit costly good day out plenty of open space, and regular events, kids liked the enormous fish in the moat

As a child, you have an idea of what a castle should look like and this is it! A moat, towers on each corner and a portcullis. At Bodiam Castle, I was suddenly five years old again!

A lovely Castle with beautiful views and the sounds of a heritage railway. Well worth a visit BUT beware on the last year the entrance scheme has changed. If you are a non member you know have to pay for the car park and the grounds/Castle. The grounds used to be free but no more! Better if you are a... More

A nice looking castle with a good visitor centre, plenty to do, nice walk alongside the River Rother, The Moat around the castle is beautiful and the Grounds are well kept. Large Car Park and I would recommend 1/2 day for your visit. You can even walk up to the Steam Railway over the bridge

While the interior of this castle is a bit of a ruin, the exterior couldn't be more delightful. A walk up the stairs leads to beautiful views of the moat and grounds. We were able to attend a talk--excellent speaker (performer!) Very informative. The movie was also helpful in placing details that have been lost though out time.

Lovely castle which is well preserved and maintaned. It's great for kids as they can explore all the parts of the castle. There is a tiny museum which offers some interesting facts about the area in general. We definitely enjoyed it!

Great day at Bodiam Castle, excellent value for money. Really enjoyed the Archery tuition, great value and very patient and informative lesson, came away thinking with a bit of practice could be ok at this :P. Castle grounds are great for a picnic. Would def. visit again.
