Confession - we were frequent visitors between 2005 and 2009 but haven't been since we left the country. But, on the basis of why change a winning formula, I'm writing this review on the assumption that the museum is largely unchanged. This museum is housed in the same complex as the Canadian Museum of History. Don't overlook it and bank... More

Our twin 2-year-olds loved this place! We spent way more time here than we thought - turns out the kids were not too small to enjoy everything. Kids of all ages (including many adults) were scampering around so the creativity and ingenuity of the attractions appealed to all. Many great highlights, including: the colorful bus in the exhibit that encourages... More

We went here with our preschooler and baby and had a blast. Our daughter absolutely loved playing here. It was not so small that you felt packed in like sardines, but not so big that I felt the need to hover over her. It was the perfect size. There were lots of activities for children of all ages.

This is the best part of the History Museum. Perfect for the under 10 crowd. Frankly of the dozen or so kids sections in other museums around the world we have been to, this one is by far the most engaging and visually interesting. Bringing our kids here for an hour or so was a big hit. Worth doing if... More

Prepare yourself to walk briskly, duck under small doors, crawl on your knees and panick a few times as you might lose sight of your child for a few minutes...but other than that, it is simply a good time for all. The best part is the Arts & Crafts room, where your kids (& you) can build things for dozens... More

I honestly thought that this was a terrible place, and not very family friendly. It was dangerous, and scared my kids. I'd advise any other parents not to go hear.

My family and I visited here yesterday and we really enjoyed ourselves. There was so much to see and do. We were here for almost eight house and my kids still weren't ready to leave. Everything was hands on and there was a passport to stamp as you did all of these activities. Numerous arts and crafts and little take... More

THis is really fun for kids, and I loved seeing my daughter have a good time with her friends. The can do birthdays and it might be a fun idea.

If you have a child or children and you're in the Gatineau/Ottawa area, DO stop at the civilization *cough* or the Canadian History museum. (Can thank our federal government for the name change). Hours and hours of entertainment guaranteed and you won't even have to do anything. Kids will make friends instantly with others and you can just sit back... More
