The Jardin des glaciers, situated by the St. Lawrence River and in the heart of a World Biosphere Reserve, is an integrated site for interpretation, exploration and education, whose values rely on scientific content, and is set in an unusual and exceptional environment. It deals with the Ice Age, climactic changes and the migration of first peoples. It does this by proposing three distinct experiences: the MULTIMEDIA ZONE, the NATURE ZONE, and the ADRENALIN ZONE.

Another great place to visit while in the Baie Comeau area. Although some have said that they were not bilingual, we had no problem as long as we attempted to speak french, they were more than hospitable and warm toward a group of obviously non quebecers.

I loved this place. They even provided an English-speaking guide for the two of us. Go, and take the kids. You will learn a lot and have a ot of fun.

We took the tour of the largest "shell" beach in the world that was found in 1996 in the Boreal forest north of Baie Comeau. My husband does not speak French so we requested and English guid if possible. We were told it was possible and that we could meet him at the Centre. We checked in at the centre... More

The arrival was efficient but nonchalant - I did not understand the wifi and room instructions at the reception, and although I tried to ask to the gebtleman to speak slowly he continued to speak in local accent in the same speed - an interesting cultural experience bur not very helpful for a tourist. They gave us the room just... More

My wife and I visited the Jardin des Glaciers as part of a Holland America excursion in Oct 2012. I enjoyed the experience more than she did, but then again I enjoy history and geology more than she does. I really enjoyed the multimedia presentation. The other exhibits told a interesting and concise story, in english and in french, but,... More

One of my favorite places I've visited in Canada. I can't wait to go back! The place was very well thought out. I don't want to say too much, because it could ruin the surprise. It is really cool!

Unfortunately it was too early to enjoy Nature Zone and Adrenalin Zone, however the show at Multimedia Zone was very informative and interesting.

On a whim, my husband and I decided to take the ferry across the St. Lawrence. We saw a little ad in a tourist brochure for this place and wanted to check it out. This place is incredible! Admission lets you into the park where you can hike or take a shuttle into the depths of the forest. They have... More
